Pon placed his phone aside, picked it up again to check the screen every half minute, and then locked the screen once more.

Every other minute, he couldn’t help but pick it up and unlock to check again.

Pon looked at the phone, heartbroken, and slammed his chest.

“Why am I so good for nothing?!”

Pon recalled the ache after he calmed down.

Just like a determined man, he turned off his mobile phone and threw it on the bed.

He refused to go to the study because he was afraid that Sailub would distract him when doing his homework.

It was too unreasonable if he couldn’t calm down in his room.

Pon no longer thought about what happened in the afternoon, he rubbed his face and concentrated on the test papers.

For the final exams, Pon didn’t want to let Sailub see his colorful test papers anymore.

It might be difficult to improve his ranking, but he still wanted to make great progress.

He couldn’t let Sailub be ashamed of him every time.

Pon calmed down.

At ten o’clock, he successfully completed the comprehensive test paper.

Pon did not dare to waste time.

Since he wasn’t too sleepy at the moment, he took out the answer sheet and checked the test papers one by one and looked through them himself.

He didn’t look at those he had done correctly as well as the ones that had careless mistakes.

Instead, he marked all the wrongly done questions, studied the answers carefully and analysed the steps to solve them.

It took him more than an hour for him to figure out the answers of the wrong questions.

There were still two small questions and one last question of a bigger question.

Pon changed to a colored pen and marked it again, intending to ask the teacher tomorrow.

Looking at the time, it was 11:45pm.

There was also an essay to complete.

Pon got up, took his workbook and at the same time, a small box of cooling oil from his school bag.

All of Pon’s classmates were using this cream-like medicinal oil.

When burning the midnight oil, applying some of it on the acupuncture points helped to refresh one’s mind.

This box was given by the girl who sat behind him in class.

Pon dabbed a little on the center of his eyebrows and looked at the proposed composition title: Starting Point.

The topic was quite rigid and the limitations were small. It was very suitable for writing argumentative essays.

After thinking about it, just as he was about to write, his door was knocked on several times.

Pon, who was stunned, got up, hurriedly tidied up the tabletop, patted down his messy hair, walked to the door and slowly opened it.

“Was your phone dead?” Sailub frowned slightly. “What are you still doing at such a late time?”

Pon looked at the house and suddenly said, “Oh. No, my phone still has battery. I had accidentally turned it off… You haven’t slept yet?”

“Saw that your room was lit up and tried calling your phone twice but it was turned off. I thought something might be wrong.” Sailub  frowned, “It will be midnight soon, are you not going to class tomorrow?”
