After returning home, Pon hid the ring box.
Fortunately, Sailub kept wearing the ring and didn’t want to put it away, so he didn’t notice that the ring box was gone.
Feeling relieved, Pon unpacked his suitcase and sorted out the textbooks and homework he took to the hotel.
For the past two days, he kept playing and didn’t do much studying. The homework assigned to be done over the weekend was not completed.
Pon was afraid that Sailub would want to check so he hurriedly changed clothes.
Taking advantage of the time before dinner, it took him half an hour to finish an English and Math test paper.
The English test papers were easy to complete as there were many multiple-choice questions.
Filling up ABCD was based on intuition.
Generally speaking, the rate of getting the correct answer by choosing option C was higher.
The composition writing was to copy a paragraph of the reading comprehension and that was it.
The math paper took a little more time but it was not complicated.
Pon quickly finished writing the test papers and secretly prayed that Sailub would only check the completion of the homework instead of actually checking each question one by one. Otherwise he’d be beaten.
As Sailub took a two-day rest, there should have been a lot of things to deal with when he came back.
That was how Pon comforted and reassured himself.
When he was about to force himself to speedily complete a composition, his cell phone rang.
It was a text message from the class monitor. He was instantly pained when he glanced at it.
While Pon was completing his school work, Sailub was also taking time to deal with the work that had been neglected these two days.
Pon gently opened the door of the study room and whispered, “P'Sai…”
“Speak.” Sailub didn’t look up and continued, “If you are hungry, then go eat first, don’t wait for me.”
“No, no.” Pon shook his head. He walked to the desk, smiled a few times embarrassedly and said, “Then… do you have time next Friday?”
“No.” Sailub looked up. “What’s the matter?”
Pon was instantly lost for words. “No…no.”
“Then it’s alright”
Pon choked up. He didn’t expect such an opening remark.
Sailub blocked his long preparation with just a sentence.
Pon hurriedly said, “You can continue with what you were doing. I’m not hungry, eh…I will go down and see how the dinner is coming along.”
“You…” Sailub frowned, “You have a parent-teacher conference next Friday, don’t you know?”
When Pon stopped in his tracks, turned his head and said in a daze, “I… just found out.”
“It’ll be Friday afternoon. After that, there will be an important party in the evening.” Sailub called up the next week’s schedule that Way had sent him on Saturday, took a look and said, “There isn’t any other time. What are you intending to do?”
“No, nothing much.” Pon tried to suppress the corners of his mouth that was not obedient and said, “When did you know that there was a parent-teacher meeting?”
