Third person Pov.
Rehan felt his heart thump loudly against his chest, his mind racing with a thousand thoughts. He looked at her, saw the resolute expression on her face, and knew she was not kidding around. "What do you mean, Aradhya? Are you even listening to yourself?" he asked, his voice laced with disbelief.
Aradhya kept her gaze locked on his, refusing to back down. "I'm listening, and I'm completely serious," she replied, her voice firm but gentle.
Rehan felt like he was stuck in a whirlwind of emotions. Part of him wanted to scream with joy, to hold her tight and never let go. But another part of him was filled with doubt and fear. How could she even consider marrying him, a man with a dark past and a tumultuous present? "Why?" The question slipped out before Rehan could stop himself. His voice cracked slightly, betraying the turmoil within him. "What do you mean, why?" "Give me a reason! Why do you want to marry a person like me, a person who is in jail and has no future? Just give me a reason, why?"
Aradhya's expression softened. She reached up and gently touched his face, her fingers caressing his cheek. Her touch sent a shiver down Rehan's spine, and he found himself leaning into her touch, seeking comfort in her presence. "Because I love you," she said simply, her voice filled with conviction. "I love you, Rehan, and I meant every word when I said I want to marry you."
Rehan felt his heart skip a beat at her words. It was the first time she had said those three words to him, and yet they felt like the most natural thing in the world. He reached up and took her hand in his, holding onto it for dear life as if afraid she might disappear if he let go. "But I'm nothing, Aradhya. I have no future," he said, his voice hoarse with emotion. "We both will make a future together," Aradhya said, cupping his cheek. "But I'm in jail," he persisted, unable to believe that she could be so willing to throw her life away to be with someone like him. "How can you even think about marrying me when my future is so uncertain?"
Aradhya's expression turned determined. "You and I both know, Rehan, you have not committed any crime. So why are you troubling yourself, thinking about your future?" Rehan's heart ached at her words. He knew he was framed for a crime he didn't commit, but still, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was not worthy of her, that he would only hold her back in life.
Aradhya could see the turmoil in Rehan's eyes, the battle between hope and despair raging within him. She knew that breaking through his doubts would not be easy, but she was determined to get through to him. She took a step closer, her hand still resting on his cheek. "Rehan, listen to me," she said, her voice firm yet gentle. "You are not a burden to me. You never have been, and you never will be."
"But I can't offer you the life you deserve," Rehan protested, feeling like they were talking in circles. "I'm stuck here, in this prison cell, with no future in sight. How can I give you the life you deserve when I can't even give myself freedom?" "Who said you can't have freedom?" she asked with a smirk. "You will have full freedom, freedom to make your decisions, freedom to live your life your way," she said, a determined look in her eyes.
Just then, a lawyer, Mr. Sharma, appeared, his briefcase in hand. "Rehan, I have some good news," he said, his voice confident. "I've managed to secure your bail. You're free to go."
Rehan's heart raced as he stood up, his eyes locked on Aradhya's hopeful face. "But what about the case?" Rehan asked, his mind still cloudy with uncertainty.
Mr. Sharma's expression turned serious. "The case is still ongoing, Rehan. But with this bail, you'll have some breathing room to prepare your defense. We'll work together to prove your innocence."
Aradhya's face lit up with relief, and she reached out to grasp Rehan's hands. "We'll get through this, Rehan," she said, her voice filled with determination.
As they walked out of the prison, Rehan felt a sense of freedom he hadn't experienced in a long time. He knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but with Aradhya by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope.
"What did you do?" he asked, the question escaping his lips before he could hold it back. "I talked to the right people, made the right connections," she said, a sly smile playing on her lips.
"But how?" he persisted, still struggling to comprehend how she had managed to arrange it all. "Let's just say I have some friends in high places," she said cryptically, not offering any more explanation. Rehan chuckled, realizing that Aradhya had her own methods and networks, just as he did. He squeezed her hand, feeling a wave of gratitude for her support.
Aradhya gazed up at Rehan with a playful glint in her eye. "Now that you're free, Rehan, are you ready to take on the ultimate challenge? Will you marry this stubborn, annoying, and slightly crazy person right in front of you?" she asked, her voice dripping with drama as she dropped to one knee.
Rehan couldn't help but crack a smile at her antics. "You're the most annoying and irritating person I've ever met," he replied, his voice filled with affection. "But yes, I am willing to marry you."
"Oh hello, Mr. Rude, I just said that to make you smile. And I'm the most beautiful girl in this world, huh?"
Aradhya rolled her eyes, pretending to be annoyed, though a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "You're lucky you're handsome, or I would drop-kick you for being so rude," she retorted.
"And why did you say yes if you find me annoying?"
Rehan's face lit up with a warm smile. "Well, I guess I have no choice but to say yes to this amazing, beautiful, and slightly eccentric person," he replied, his voice filled with laughter and love.
"After all, I've survived jail, but I'm not sure I can survive life without you!"
Aradhya's face lit up with joy as Rehan pulled her into a tight embrace, his lips brushing against hers in a tender kiss.
"I love you, Rehan," she whispered.
"I love you too, Aradhya," he replied, his voice filled with emotion. "Now and forever."
