"-amy?"

I blinked once.

"Bellamy?"

I blinked again.

"Bellamy Jackson!!" I jump at the loud screech in my ear, looking over at my roommate, Rhia.

"Lost you there for a second," She giggled, handing me a bowl of caramel drizzled apples.

"Sorry," I muttered, she gave me a sad smile.

"All good. I'm going to Tobi's dorm, want to come with?" She asked, draping her purse over her shoulder. I shook my head.

"No, I'll stay here," I said, she frowned.

"You sure?" I nodded.

"Okay, if you need anything I'm two doors or a phone call away!" She beamed, before rushing out the room.

I sighed before sitting up, and taking the small box filled with photos of my family and friends.

My fingers traced over the pictures of us from halloween.

It's been almost two months since I've seen them.

My parents got what they wanted no matter how much I cried and begged them. They sent me to this stupid fine arts school, and I've never hated dancing as much as I do now.

Back home dancing was an escape, something that could get my mind off things. It wasn't something I was planning on making my full time career, which was one of the reasons why I didn't want to come here in the first place.

But now that I'm here, it feels like I've sold my soul to dance. Every day and night I'm in the dance room, learning new routines everyday, and competing to keep my position.

Even with my short time being here I've climbed to the top of being one of the best dancers here. So, of course, I've made enemies on the way.

Almost everyone here is so competitive and snobby. They act like they're above others just because they got talent and money.

Take Carmella for an example. I've been here for less than 2 months and she's already made it her life mission to make being here a living hell, only because I'm better than her at dancing.

Crazy right?

But I've also made some friends here. A cute couple, Tobias and Rhia. Rhia is 15 and in the same competitive dance team as me and Tobias is 16, we don't have classes together.

They've made my stay a lot more bearable. I didn't have a choice but to open up to Rhia my first week after she woke me up from a nightmare for the 6th time, but she quickly understood and we've been close ever since.

I felt bad because in the beginning I was very closed off and cold towards her, and she's like a ball of sunshine and never got upset about it.

Whenever I had a nightmare she'd climb into my bed and run her fingers through my hair, the same way Kayson did to comfort me.
