After spending another hour doing nothing but listen to Isabella and her friends gossiping, Kayson and I got bored and told the group that we were going to be downstairs.
I should've known that my family was going to steal my boyfriend. The moment we touched the last step they snatched him away.
Fuck me I guess.
I sigh, slumping down back on the couch. My little cousin Emily wobbled to me with her coloring book and some crayons. She was one of the calmest child here.
"Draw?" She asks, lifting up the coloring book and crayons, I smile as I help her sit next to me. She places the Care Bear coloring book on our laps, one side on hers and the other on mine.
She offers me a red crayon and I take it as she begans scribbling on her page. Oh God. Sometimes I forget that toddlers can't color in between the lines.
I shrug and began coloring. I could tell by the way Emily eyed my page that she was trying to mimic my coloring.
"Let me help you, Sweetie," I giggled, putting the crayon in a more comfortable position in her chubby hand. I helped her softly color the bear until she got the hang of it.
"Hey Bella, it's been a while, Muneca," Oh. My. God.
My eyes widened at the familiar brunette in front of me. He smiled brightly, his charming smile lighting up the whole room.
"August? What are you doing here?" August Lennon. He was a childhood best friend of Isabella and I until he moved away to Georgia.
His family was very close with mine, and my Abuelita loves him. We fell off since I was busy with dancing and didn't have time for him, but he and Isabella stayed in contact, I think.
"Azúcar'scumpleaños, of course," He chuckled, I smiled lightly. (Translation: Sugar's birthday)
He gave Isabella and I nicknames when we were younger. He called me Munecabecause he said I the eyes of a doll, and he called Isabella Azúcar because she was as sweet as sugar.
He flops back and stretches his arm over the back of the couch, his fingers grazed my shoulder. I clear my throat and sit forward slightly, Emily was too busy coloring to notice anything happening around her.
"I thought that I'd surprise you both, I got here a few minutes ago," He explains and I nod.
"Well, I am very surprised," I smile, he smiled softly back.
"You don't seem too thrilled to see me though. I remember you used to run and hug me everyday you saw me," He laughed lightly, I internally cringe at the memory.
"I grew up," I shrugged, he tilted his head slightly, his bright green eyes bore into mine.
"You're not still upset I left, are you?" He asked softly, and I shake my head.
