As Bucky stared at the image of him holding Steve's shield, he couldn't help but feel wrong. He wasn't Captain America and he didn't want to be Captain America. He had too many demons to deal with.

"In some ways, America needs Captain America, in others, it doesn't," Steve said. "The mantle should be passed down, though, eventually."
"No one could ever live up to you," Sam said. "You were the First Avenger and the best."
"They don't have to live up to me. They just have to be a good person and always fight for what's right," Steve replied calmly.

"That isn't the real shield," Natasha said. "There is way too little security for it to be real."
