We go to great lengths for those we care about.

The Separatists appear to be everywhere.

Republic troops continue to fall at the hands of the Separatists across the galaxy.

An informant has reached out to the Jedi Council, offering information that could draw back the bloodshed. Y/n is sent on the vital mission to retrieve it, and ensure more of her numbers don't dwindle.

Staring out into the inky void of space was usually peaceful. This time however it was simply unnerving. Separatist forces were supposed to be showing up here, an attack imminent on the planet we were guarding with my small fleet of cruisers.

Sighing softly, I folded my hands behind my back. Continuing to scan the area I could see from the bridge's viewport. The longer that there was no sign of Separatist forces the more uneasy I became. We'd been stationed here for around three hours now, managing to beat those who were planning to invade the Republic planet. But hours later there was still no movement out there.

Anxiously my foot began to tap against the metal floor. The beeping of all the equipment had been drowned out by the doubts filling my head. What if we'd been fed false information and the attack was actually always intended for a different planet? What would happen if when they did finally arrive they came with hundreds of ships and that's what was keeping them longer? What would it mean if they didn't show up at all? Would I be sent off elsewhere? What if that was their plan? To wait until we gave up and then swoop once we were far enough away.

"Stop tapping." Wolffe told me, coming up to stand on my left.

Grumbling under my breath, I made the effort to still my foot. Instead I shifted my hand so it was clutching tightly at my other wrist, nails ever so slightly digging into my skin. Scrapping my nails over my skin was an acceptable alternative if I couldn't tap my foot. It made no noise and didn't cause anyone any harm. Well, perhaps it irritated my skin but-

"You're lost in your head again." He spoke back up, making me snap my head over to look at him.

"I'm getting nervous." I mumbled out, my nails stilling not wanting him to point that out to the world as well.
