A Lifetime of Adventure

Chapter 4

Levi's POV

I messaged my friends last night  to invite them to my newly opened coffee shop at 7am the next day.

"Guys, meet up tayo 7am tomorrow sa coffee shop ko ah" I said 

"Luh Levi. Seryoso ba yan. Ang aga aga oh. Bukas ng gabi ka nalang mag aya para di tayo naghahabol ng oras." Alex said

"Di daw pwede si Sean eh. Kasi maaga pa daw ang flight niya kinabukasan." I said 

"Sorry guys hehe" Sean said 

"Nasan ba yang coffee shop mo? Libre mo ba?" Gab said 

"Guys pagbigyan na natin si Levi, never pa ata tayong nagkita sa umaga eh. Puro alak at nightclub kasi ang gusto niyo." Kurt said 

"Libre mo ba?" Alex said 

"Pag di libre pass ako diyan. May pinagiipunan ako" Gab said

"Sus, hindi naman ata matatapos ang pagiipon mo kasi ang gastos mo eh" Kurt said

"Bumili ka na kasi ng piggy bank na walang butas. Yung kailangan basagin bago makuha yung pera" Sean said

"Kaya nga. Hindi pa nga puno nagwiwithdraw na" Kurt said

"Oo na. Libre ko na. Punta kayo ah" I said 

"Totoo yan ah. Di na ako magdadala ng wallet bukas." Alex said 

I sent the address of my coffee shop to the chat and ended the conversation.

The next morning, I woke up early to get ready to go to the coffee shop. I was staring at the pile of clothes inside my closet for a while before deciding to go with a casual outfit. I took a quick shower and styled my hair this morning because I feel like something different would happen today.  

I then went down to the basement of the condominium, got in my black luxury sedan and headed to the cafe. After a few minutes of waiting. My friends started to arrive. They arrived one by one. The last one to arrive is Gab. As usual, he is always late since he always wanted a grand entrance regardless of the event or time of day. 

We started making plans on our trip to Steven's racetrack. All of us already missed speed and the feeling of euphoria of winning the race. The topic of our conversation eventually led to updating each other regarding our new business ventures and hobbies. 

My eyes unconsciously found a girl who just entered the shop. I immediately recognized her. Shantelle. 

Shit. She looked good as ever. Her choice of outfit is still modest. Her face still look cute. Her eyes seems to have more life in it, compared to the last time I saw her in campus. Something different about her now is she look more mature and independent. I never knew that she would make my heart race again after a few years. 

I urged myself to man up and talk to her. While walking towards her, she continuously stared at me like she's looking into my soul. Shit. I can feel its effects on me. 

After greeting each other, I asked her if she wanted to meet my friends. Thankfully, she smiled and agreed. We went back to the table and I introduced her to my friends and the other way around. Based on the look plastered on the faces of my friends, they all seem to admire Shantelle. 

I got taken aback when Gab suddenly stood up and tried to reach his hand out and smiled with an intention to Shantelle. I stared at him to get his attention but he simply brushed it off. 

When Shantelle left the shop, my friends started to ask me about her whereabouts. I simply just told them about our past relationship as friends.

I was also able to tell my friends that the reason I didn't have a relationship with her in the past is because I was still not yet committed to enter into a relationship with anyone during my college years.

The topic of our conversation eventually led to our exes and our the past relationships that we wanted to go back to or failed to have.

Nevertheless, all my friends encouraged me to make a move on her since I am still single. I still don't know how to approach her as of the moment. One thing that is stopping me from doing it is my uncertainty about my feelings for her. I wanted to be sure about my feelings first before taking the first step.

I don't court just for the thrill, I court because I have feelings for her.
