Risking it all (Lando Norris)

Chapter 2

Lily

Present...

I'm the living proof of the quote that says: When you finally let go of the past, something better will appear in your life. This is me letting go of the summer and focusing on my job. I partied a lot  through the summer. I don't even know, if there was a day that I would go without alcohol. 

Tomorrow is a fresh start for me. A fresh start, with a new job. Gosh I waited for this moment for so long. I have already decided on what to wear, packed my bag, charged my computer, watch and my phone...All I can say is that I'm fully ready and finally happy.

I woke up at 6am and got ready. An hour later here I am already on my way to the McLaren Technology Center. It's around 20 minutes away from me. First I have a meeting with Zak Brown a CEO of the McLaren, and apparently after that I'm meeting the drivers. 

I didn't watch f1 throughout the whole summer and I don't know anything about the McLaren drivers. I only remember Oscar Piastri, but I for certainly can't remember the other one. I was a bit nervous because I still didn't know which driver I'll be assisting. 

When I arrived I saw Zak standing there and I walked up to him, trying to calm myself. "Hello, Zak I believe?" I said calmly, with a smile, reaching my hand out for him to shake. "Correct, Lily right?" he said and I was really nervous now. "Yes, that's right" I said with a slight smile, trying to soothe my nerves. He was smiling too and this made the situation less awkward.

"Please follow me to my office and after our meeting I'll let you meet the drivers." We went to his office and he was being very polite. We talked about the basic things. He told me about my job, my work, he even said that I get my own office and work clothes. With work clothes he meant the McLaren t-shirt and trainers, plus some black leggings or trousers. Our meeting was slowly ending and now the "meeting the drivers" part was coming.

"Now how about I introduce you to the drivers?" said Zak and I just smiled at him. As we were walking to the conference room where apparently they were, I got even more nervous. I don't know shit about them and that's really sad because for one of them I'll be working.

We arrived to the conference room and Zak knocked on the door. He slowly opened it and said "Boys, there's someone I want you to meet...Lily?" he said and turned to me as I walked through that door. I saw Oscar sat in one of the chairs, but there was another driver sitting next to him. I looked at him and saw a familiar face...no fucking way.

My eyes widened and so did his. Now I finally knew why he was so familiar to me. It was him...Lando Norris. Why was I unable to remember him? Gosh he still looked so good, just like on that party. "Hi...how are you both?" I said with a smile. 

They both walked closer to me and introduced themselves. "Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Oscar." said the one and only Oscar Piastri and pulled me into a hug. After our hug I looked at him and he smiled at me before he said "And I'm Lando, nice to meet you..." he hugged me and whispered in my ear "properly this time." Oh god...my stomach did a thing and I swear I felt butterflies everywhere. 

Our hug lasted way longer than the one I had with Oscar. When we pulled away, Zak turned to me and said: "Lily is your new personal assistant Lando. Treat her right and with respect." I quickly looked at Lando and saw a smirk plastered on his face. "Amazing...I promise I'll treat her right." said Lando and smiled at me. Oh god...

I always found him sweet and funny and I was right, he is. I never thought that we would see each other again...faith i guess. "Lando show Lily around and Oscar please come with me." said Zak before he and Oscar left. 

I was really nervous and shy, not knowing if I should say something. "Never thought I'll see you again." said Lando and I looked at him. I wonder if he tried to search for me like I did for him. "Really?" I asked not knowing what else to say. "Yeah, it was weird that you didn't recognise me... " he said with a chuckle...gosh that voice...
