Early morning. Eastside University athletics track.
The sweat now glistened on Ava's toned muscles as she completed her tenth lap. Her deep brown eyes focused on the track ahead. The sun was only just beginning to break over the horizon.
Swimming competitively since the age of 12, early morning training was just a familiar routine now for the Eastside swimming team Captain. Watching from the stands was her younger brother, Diego. The two have always had a close relationship , and the pride Diego felt could be easily seen on his handsome face.
Ever since he was old enough, Diego had kept his sister company for her early morning training sessions. Initially, it was just because their mother had asked him to. He did it now because Ava had grown into a stunningly beautiful woman, and who better to beat up those men with bad ideas than him?
As Ava rounded the bend, she gave a quick wave to her brother before turning her mind back to the track in front.
Just another 10 laps, then I'll hit the showers. Then breakfast, she thought to herself.
Turning the volume up again on her headphones, Ava accelerated.
Westlake University Female Dorms.
Thump! Lena rolled out of bed, landing face down on the floor. She continued to just lay there.
I really need to stop drinking so much... It's all Maya's fault! She always gets me into trouble, Lena thought without a hint of self reflection.
Maya was Lena's first 'real' girlfriend after coming out at the age of 18. They'd met each other in high school, and even though their romance didn't last after they started at different universities, they were still the best of friends.
"Get up you lazy bitch," Maya said, giving Lena a playful smack on the ass. The grin on her face widened, "You're already late."
"What time is it?" questioned Lena, still face down on the floor, and who'd now pulled the blanket over her head. "10am," Maya waiting for the reaction...
"Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" Lena jumped up and ran to the bathroom. "Why didn't you wake me earlier?!"
"What? Am I your mother now?" laughed Maya, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.
A few minutes later Lena came sprinting out of the bathroom, freshly wet from the shower, and naked. "Besides, I'd miss all of this," Maya said as she eyed Lena up and down, "if I'd woken you earlier."
Slipping out the door Maya said, "Anyway, I'm off. Thanks for letting me crash. Love ya"
The laughter could be heard receding down the corridor.
Picking up a t-shirt of the floor and smelling it. Clean enough she thought as she threw it on. Grabbing her sports bag, Lena ran out the door and down the hall.
Students walking around the quad turned to watch the Westlake Swimming team Captain , her light brown hair flowing wildly behind, now going at full pace.
Fuck! I'm so dead. Coach won't let me off this time...
