"I don't know Max..." El mumbled, pinching the skin covering the joints of her fingers, something she always did when she was nervous. "It's been a while, and this is so much bigger than anything I've done before."
"Ellie." The older girl said, putting her hands on her shoulders, "Once you get up there you'll realise that you've been panicking for no reason at all." The backstage crew rushed around as they made the final adjustments, and they could hear the instrumental of El's opening song playing loudly, the crowds excited murmurs.

"I'll be in the crowd, I'm gonna be there the whole time. The people out there love you, I love you, okay?" She asked, caressing Eleven's cheeks. The girl nodded, putting her hands on Max's waist as she tried to relax herself. "Now go get 'em, my beautiful girl." She smiled, kissing her lips softly before letting go.

El took a deep breath as Max left backstage to join the crowd, and she made sure her earpiece was in properly before grabbing her electric guitar, putting the strap over her head. She nodded lightly before bounding up the stairs, lights flashing as she showed herself.

The crowd screamed as the first song immediately began, prepared to sing their hearts out. Jane looked around, there must've been at least 5000 people, all there for her. A warm feeling filled her heart and she encouraged them to clap to the beat.

"Have you got colour in your cheeks?" She sung the first line, a smile tugging at her lips as she heard everyone singing along with her.

"Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift
The type that sticks around like summat in your teeth?
Are there some aces up your sleeve?
Have you no idea that you're in deep?
I dreamt about you nearly every night this week
How many secrets can you keep?
'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow and I play it on repeat
Until I fall asleep
Spilling drinks on my settee"

She played the guitar as the drummer played a few metres behind her.
"(Do I wanna know?)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby, we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day
Crawling back to you"

She rocked side to side slightly, not feeling nearly as nervous as she did a few minutes ago. The crowd were all singing along, getting ready for the chorus.

"Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?
'Cause I always do
Maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new
Now I've thought it through
Crawling back to you

So have you got the guts?
Been wondering if your heart's still open and if so I wanna know what time it shuts
Simmer down and pucker up
I'm sorry to interrupt. It's just I'm constantly on the cusp of trying to kiss you
I don't know if you feel the same as I do
But we could be together if you wanted to"

She smiled against the mic,

"(Do I wanna know?)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby, we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day
Crawling back to you (crawling back to you)"

She let the guitarist take the lead as she grabbed the mic from the stand, rushing towards the crowd as the chorus started again.

"Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? (you've had a few)
'Cause I always do ('cause I always do)
Maybe I'm too (maybe I'm too busy) busy being yours to fall for somebody new
Now I've thought it through
