Entry Thirteen: The Return of Doctor Fate

MOUNT JUSTICE
OCTOBER 1

The cave hadn't been as eventful as she previously thought, after their mission in India, the team had occupied their time by training for most of the week. Something Nirvana wasn't opposed to, although sparring with the strongest person in the room wasn't the best idea but Black Canary denied such, telling the young hero she'd improved.

However, Nirvana knows it isn't entirely true as she felt it was just to reassure her since combat had never been her strong suit; unlike Diana.

With Black Canary's absence, and the looming presence of Zatara and Captain Marvel, Nirvana stood on the sidelines as she watched Kaldur and Robin spar. The two use techniques taught by their teacher, with each move counting points. They continued to spar until Kaldur dodged Robin's hit, flipping two steps away as the training floor switched off.

They joined Nirvana, noticing M'gann and Conner enter with Wolf in tow. "You guys know they're a couple, right?" Robin whispers, loud enough for the two of them to hear as Wolf trudges towards the Amazon, nuzzling his face against her palm as she begins to pet him. "I believe I knew before they did." Kaldur answered while Nirvana hummed, "It seemed obvious," she murmured.

Robin looks at the Amazon with a cheeky smile, "I thought you'd be upset," he commented, "I thought you liked Conner—one way or another." He teased as Kaldur nudged him in the elbow. "I never said that," she murmured, "Besides, I think they look like a lovely couple,"

At the other end, they could hear footsteps approach the rest, turning to find Artemis and Wally walking towards the mission chamber together. "Do we tell them?" Robin suggested.

"I want to believe they're in denial..." Nirvana trailed off, "Or even oblivious."

"Either way, it is not our place," Kaldur concluded as the archer and speedster approached the trio. "So, if Zatara is our babysitter of the week," Wally starts, walking closer to Wolf in an attempt to pet him, only to be greeted with a growl. "Why is he still here?" He quickly questioned, moving back from the animal while Artemis snickered.

The he in question happened to be Captain Marvel, who happily munched on a snack bar. "And why is he eating my snacks?" Wally pointed out as Nirvana stared at him, "Wally, I don't think your name's on that bar."

"Recognized: Batman, 02."

"Computer, national news," Batman commanded, walking into the mission room as the team watched the live broadcast on the screen. She continued to pet Wolf as the news played with Cat Grant reporting from Metropolis.

"The initial attack was short-lived," she started, the feed cutting from the reporter to the view of the city, "But Metropolis was only granted a short reprieve." The reporter continued as a building collapsed from the pressure of the plants before it cut to a scene of League members saving civilians. "And despite the intervention of Superman and the Justice League," The woman continued as Hawkgirl flew into the scene, "There seems to be no end in sight."

Nirvana glanced to her side, feeling Wolf walk towards Conner while the rest focused on the footage.

"Should we get out there?" Robin questioned.

"No. The League will soon have the situation under control. That's not why I'm here." Batman stated, "According to your intel, Sportsmaster supplied Cadmus' Blockbuster formula to Kobra."

"Who combined it with Bane's venom to create Kobra venom." Wally says, "Which the Brain used to create his animal army." Robin continued, "And upgrade Wolf," Conner added. "The Brain also used inhibitor collars like the ones at Belle Reve Penitentiary," M'gann chimed in, recalling the collars on the animal's necks. "Batman, is it possible that plant thingy's on Kobra venom too?" Artemis asked, understanding the information being brought out in a span of a few minutes.
