"Found you a squad, we did. Meet them now, you will,"
Cal nodded,
"Where do I go to meet them, Master Yoda?"
"Meet them on Kamino, you will. Take a small ship,"
Cal nodded and bowed,
"Thank you, Master Yoda,"
The call ended and Cal sighed and ruffled his hair as he left his shared room. Jesse turned spotted him immediately,
"Hey, General Axel, are you heading to the mess hall?"
Cal shook his head,
"No, I am departing to Kamino right now,"
Jesse frowned,
"Did they find you a squad?"
Cal nodded,
"Yes, I am saying my goodbyes before leaving,"
Jesse nodded,
"I heard Sora was-"
Cal chuckled,
"Jesse, come now, it has been a while now since I have met you, you should know that I do not need to be told where my sister is,"
Jesse chuckled and nodded,
"I don't think any of us will get used to that. General Skywalker can't do that,"
Cal shrugged,
"Well, I grew up with Sora as my only true human contact. It just worked out that we were both force-sensitive,"
Jesse shrugged,
"Yes, I guess so,"
The two walked to the Hangar to find Nikki talking to Hawk and Mixer,
"Sora!"
Nikki turned around and smiled at the two,
"Hello, Axel and Jesse, what brings you over?"
Cal sighed,
"I'm going to Kamino. Master Yoda found a squad for me,"
Nikki immediately frowned, and Jesse put a hand on Hawk and Mixer's shoulders,
"Let's get some food,"
When the three clones were gone, Nikki immediately pulled Cal into a tight hug, and he winced,
"Nikki, I promise I will be safe,"
Nikki sighed,
"I know you promise...um...maybe you can look around Kamino for a few minutes,"
Cal smirked,
"Already ahead of you. I am going to scope out the area a bit before going on any missions, I just asked to do that and Obi-Wan just sent me a message that he wants me to help him tonight."
"When are you-"
"Now...I wanted to say goodbye,"
Nikki frowned,
"We are truly getting separated?"
Cal sighed and put a hand on her shoulder,
"Hey, it won't be for forever...just a few...and we have our personal comms fixed, so if you ever need me, call me,"
Nikki nodded,
"Fine, fine...send me any information you get, and I'll send it over to Fives,"
Cal smiled and hugged her one last time,
"I will...may the force be with you, Sora,"
"May the force be with you, Axel. BD, watch over him,"
BD-1 chirped and nodded his head as she walked away. Cal went to his ship as BD-1 beeped sadly,
"I know, bud, I'll miss her too...but we need to investigate,"
Cal powered on the ship and took off to Kamino. When he landed, he was greeted by Shak-Ti,
"Master Shak-Ti,"
"Greetings, Jedi Knight Axel, welcome to Kamino,"
He looked behind her to see a small group of Clones that he shortly recognized,
"This is your new squad, Clone Force 99. I will leave you to be acquainted with them. You leave in two hours to Master Kenobi,"
Cal nodded,
"Thank you,"
She left, and Hunter stepped up,
"General Axel, my name is CT-"
Cal immediately put his hand up to interrupt him,
"I don't want your number. I never remember those. What is your name?"
Hunter smirked,
"My name is Sargent Hunter. This is Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, and Echo."
Cal nodded his head,
"Nice to meet you guys. My name is Axel, and this is my droid, BD-1. I don't really care for the whole general thing. I only ask that you respect my orders, and if you do think of anything better, feel free to speak up. Don't do anything stupid without me. I have enough growing grays because of my friend,"
Tech glanced at him,
"You do not have any gray hair,"
Cal chuckled and stepped closer to him,
"Figure of speech, Tech."
Crosshair crossed his arms,
"Aren't Jedi not supposed to have attachments? You said friend as if they were something more,"
Hunter glared at Crosshair, and Axel shrugged,
"Her name is Sora. I raised her. She is practically my little sister. That is all I will give you of my past. I am telling you right now, I am not like the other Jedi,"
Wrecker smiled,
"Will we blow stuff up?"
Cal smirked,
"Obviously."
The squad spent the next hour discussing their tactics and getting to know each other. Cal never formally met the Bad Batch when he was a Padawan, which he knew would make this squad perfect for him, something he assumed Yoda kept in mind when choosing them. Before they departed, Cal decided to take a detour to Kamino's data archives. He knew that gaining more knowledge about clone biology could give them clues on how to prevent Order 66. Using his skills, he managed to access restricted files and downloaded extensive data on clone modifications, enhancements, and genetic variations. BD-1 helped him navigate the complex systems, chirping excitedly as they uncovered more information.
After securing the data, Cal quickly sent all the information to Nikki with a brief message:
"Found some data on clone biology. Could be useful. The suns will rise with us."
Cal then joined back with the Bad Batch,
"All set. Let's head out,"
As they boarded the ship, Hunter approached Cal,
"Axel, if I may ask, what's our primary objective on this mission?"
Cal looked at him,
"Our main objective is to help Master Kenobi take down a separatist outpost on Felucia. We're looking to disrupt their operations and gather any intel we can find."
Hunter nodded,
"Understood. We'll be ready."
