Abhi was so engrossed in his book that the sound of the French windows sliding back.  did not register with him. He was reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. He knew about the author but gave his books a wide berth. He was not a fan of history or cryptography, but since the moment his big-b introduced him to the Cesar code, he could not stop exploring. Digital fortress kept him hooked. He was almost about to reach the end and was hooked.

Just when Susan was about to decode the code, he felt a hand on his shoulder and almost screamed out in fear. A gentle hand silenced his scream. Abhi relaxed the moment he felt the familiar touch.

"jaan le le aapne mere, bhaiya. (You scared me, bhaiya)"

The phoenix shook his head and stepped back. "You would have realized I was there even if I had knocked Abhi, what has you so engrossed?"

He picked up the book casually and smiled, "Ahh....  I see. Read the Davinci code?"

Abhi shook his head. He had chosen an easy read first. He had heard that Davinci code needed a lot of patience. He loved the author's style. Now that he knew what to expect he did not mind reading his other works.

"Try it, its good. I am sure you will enjoy it"

Abhi bobbed his head, but his mind was racing. His bhaiya never came till he begged him to or until something major happened. He had of Couse pleaded with him to come, but still he was worried that there was some other scary reason.

"You are leaving for the mission today?" He voiced his fear.

The phoenix shook his head. "I told you bachcha, I will leave in three days time"

Abhi sighed and circled his arms around the man's waist. He had waited two days to just do that. No matter how many people he had around him, no matter how much attention he got from everyone, he still carved for his Bhaiya's embrace. He was happy, but his happiness was always incomplete without his Bhaiya.
