Dear Readers,
. I did not expect the plot to have loopholes and needed time to cover them. Sorry for the inconvenience. It will be posted as soon as I am done rewriting the part.
Stay tuned for chapter 33(the official last chapter) and epilogue.
An hour later Jia's phone buzzed again. She lifted the call eagerly desperate to hear her mother's voice but the voice she heard made her blood drain.
"Get me the boy in an hour, or your mother dies"
Jia was too scared to speak. Nisha encouraged her to say something but she could not muster a word. Lucifer was her worst nightmare. She did not have the courage to face him.
"for every minute you delay, your mother will lose a body part. I will enjoy her screams of terror and pain, nothing turns me on more than pain, Jia. You know this better than anyone else. I don't need an incentive. TICK TOC TICK. I will be waiting."
The line went dead. Every person in the room was shaken to the core. The call had not lasted more than 30 seconds but it drove the fear of god into them. Roohi sat down, at that moment she understood why the girl was scared. She was grown up woman, a trained offer and yet she could not shrug off the feeling of disgust. The girl had lived though the nightmare. She did not even wish to know what the man meant by that.
"He will kill her" Jia cried. "I will not see her again."
Nisha looked at Andy, hoping he got a trace. Andy shook his head. The call lasted all for 23 seconds. The man knew what he was doing. No one could trace the call so fast.
"What do we do now?" Abhay asked the much dreaded question.
"We have our instructions" Karan rose, his face devoid of emotions, "We will have to play along. Lucifer is desperate to have the boy. We need to make sure he takes the bait. The boy is our only saving grace."
"Bhaiyu will never agree to this" Andy shut his laptop. He knew the plan. As an officer he agreed that it was their best recourse. All they had to do was play along. Let Lucifer assume that Jia was getting Abhi to him. Once the man made an appearance, they could strike. It was a good plan, but it was risky. It not only compromised Jia but it put Abhi at risk. Jia was willing to walk into the trap, she would do that even if they did not play along, but Abhi was a different story. As a brother Andy could not bear to see his kid brother in danger.
