It's really not everyday that your boyfriend defeats the Fire Lord.

It's also not everyday that your boyfriend is the Avatar.

Aang defeated the Fire Lord on the day of Sozin's comet. That was today.

The Fire nation princess, Azula, was also taken down on this day.

Ba Sing Se was re-conquered.

I got my chance at revenge for my parents. And my sister.

Zuko was crowned Fire lord.

The world was free once more.

It was a good day.

We decided to celebrate our victory at 'The Jasmin Dragon', Iroh's recently re-opened tea shop. We had changed into some comfortable Earth Kingdom clothing to fit the occasion but Aang had decided to stay in the same clothes he wore for the coronation.

I laid on my back on the floor, enjoying the sweet melody Iroh was playing, but sat up once I heard the gentle chink of a teacup hitting wood.

Zuko brought tea to Iroh, then Toph and then me. I thanked him for the tea before setting it to the side and lying down again.

"Zuko stop moving! I'm trying to capture the moment," I heard Sokka say.

I sat up in intregue and began walking over.

"I wanted to do a painting, so we always remember the good times together," he finished.

I was looking at the painting from over his shoulder by now and I tried to hold in my giggles.

"Aw, that's very thoughtful of you Sokka," Katara cooed.

She then made the mistake of looking at it.

"Why did you give me Momo's ears?"

"Those are your hair loopies!"

Zuko stood next to me and took a peak.

"At least you don't look like a porcupine," he complained, "My hair's not that spiky!"

"I look like a man." Mai commented. I had learnt to enjoy her company in the small window of time we had known each other.

"My hair looks like a waterfall," I complained, just noticing how poorly my wavy hair had been drawn.

I was a Waterbender, so my hair being wavy was always a bit of an inside joke.

"And why did you paint me Firebending?" Suki butted in.

"I thought it looked more exciting that way," Sokka justified.

Momo made a scrutinising chirping noise.

"Oh, you think you can do a better job Momo?" Sokka inquired indignantly.

My eyes met Aang's from across the room, and he smiled at me. Something about him in that moment seemed so calm, so serene. He was just perfect.

He got up and walked outside, still smiling. Presumably to check on Appa, but he might have just wanted a moment.

"Hey! My belly's not that big anymore. I've really trimmed down." Iroh commented lightheartedly.

"Well I think you all look perfect!" Toph joked, inducing laughter from all of us.

I decided to go check on Aang.

I found him outside still, watching the sunset.

I stood next to him for a second, enjoying the sun and just being in his presence. I then looked towards him, taking in his features.

I gently placed my hand on his shoulder, then pulled him in for a hug.

We were a couple, but we weren't big on PDA, so this was a big move from me. In all of the time we had been together, the most we did was hold hands.

We pulled away and enjoyed the moment for a minute more.

I turned towards him, and he turned towards me. He gave me a warm smile, one full of love and caring. I sent him the same.

I then decided to be daring, and I closed the distance between us.

Our lips met. Aang seemed surprised at first, before melting into the kiss. I cupped his face gently and his arms wrapped around my waist.

We enjoyed the moment once more.

It was calm. Everything felt right.
