The young girl looked down at her mother, tears falling down her pink cheeks. The salty flavour resting on her lips. This is not what a 9-year-old girl should go through. No one at this young age should go through something like this.

Her mother has been like this since she could even remember. She used to go to school, but other parents were annoyed that they had to pick her up and take her home every time. She also stopped going to school when she turned 6, already showing signs of being a witch. Her mother was glad for that and tutored her, until she couldn't anymore.

She learned her magic because she already showed many signs of it. Her mother made sure she got a wand and everything for her to practice. Luckily in America there is no such law as underaged magic.

The girl learned how to practice magic by herself since she was 9 years old, no help from her mother since then. 2 years ago, was when her mother got diagnosed, 2 years ago when her mother fainted, and this became her life.

It was 2 years ago that all happiness left the Broze's house

"I don't know how long I have left." Aelori went to sit down beside her bed, brushing her fingers through her mother's blond hair. "But I need you to do something for me."

Aelori slowly nodded her head at her, telling her to go on.

"I want you to find him, I want him to know what a wonderful daughter he has."

She instantly knew who her mother was talking about, only the name still stayed a mystery. Over the years since she got sick, she started talking about my father. A young man who swept her off her feet and left her eventually pregnant. He left her before she got a chance to say goodbye or even tell him about his child.

Aelori is 99% sure that her father had died, but she didn't want to burst her bubble. She talks about him a lot. About the stories they had. The only thing missing, was his name.

She forgot his name, which will make her final wish a lot harder to come true.

"He is in England, where I met him." She let out a cough, that hurt her chest. The disease was spreading.  "I already packed your back, months ago."

Her mother pointed her boney finger at a small bag in the corner. She had put an extension charm onto it, making sure everything was inside.

Aelori turned back to her dying mother, "Mom, I can't leave you here alone."

Her mother gave her a small smile.

"Aelori, you are going and that is final, I don't even want you to see me like this."

Aelori wiped away the fallen tears from her eyes. She knew the day will come, but it didn't make it less easy on her.

Before Aelori could even say something, her mother pushed a rubber duck into her hands. It was a portkey.

Aelori walked to her bag and pushed it up on her shoulder. It was a little bit heavy, but she can take it.

"The portkey will take you to Diagonally, please be safe."

"I love you mom."

"I love you to."

Aelori kissed her forehead, thinking she had at least a couple of hours before she had to leave. But she quickly felt an unfamiliar strength pulling my body. Folding her body into a million pieces and pulling her through a small tube.

She hit the cold ground, her face planting into the soft grass. She let out a groan and looked around, instead of seeing a bustling street, she saw trees for miles.

Fuck.
