MINGI

one year later..

"miniiii!! come playyy!!"

"no, mingi needs to pack. go play with brianna." sohee said.

aiden huffed and stomped his little toddler feet away.

mingi laughed.

sohee sighed with a smiled as she walked inside of the room where mingi was folding clothes and stuffing them into the suitcase.

"i can't believe you're leaving already. you've been such a good help, especially with teaching them korean." sohee sat on the bed and patted mingis knee.

"me neither.. but it was fun, i see why you like jamaican men." mingi winked.

"yeah, it's really nice here too." sohee chuckled,
"so are you ready to be back? it's a big step."

mingi hummed, stuffing the rest of the clothes inside and pushing down on it with one hand then started zipping it closed with the other.

"i think so, ill be fine." mingi said.

"i know you will, but are you ready to see yunho again?"

mingi pursed his lips.

ever since he moved here it's been great, but he was very homesick and missing his friends.

especially yunho.

mingi nodded.

sohee hummed and stood. "alright. when you're ready put your stuff in the car, then we'll leave."

mingi smiled, he was finally going home.

despite the pit of fear and nervousness in his stomach he was excited. it would be his first year starting uni and he would be back with his friends.

YUNHO

the past year for yunho was a roller coaster to say the least.

the first few months were rough, he'd cry then distance himself, and no one could really get through to him.

then, after graduation came uni.

he decided to major in pre-med, aiming to become a doctor since he wasn't entirely sure of what to do. plus mingi told him that he'd make a great doctor so why not?

rooming with san was fun, and also horrible at times. mostly fun though.

yunho would come home from lectures and he'd be greeted with moans or even san and wooyoung making out on the couch with no shame.

it only made him long for mingi even more.

he had written tons of letters, too. yunho wanted to mail them to mingi but ultimately decided against it and chose to respect mingis wishes.

life was getting better for mingi, shouldn't it be for yunho?

sometimes it felt like it was, but just because he was an adult now and had the newfound freedom that came with it, didn't mean that he was completely out of the woods.

majoring in pre-med wasn't easy either. he took biology and human physiology on the side and it wasn't pretty.

most of the time if yunho wasn't studying, he was catching up on sleep, and if he wasn't doing that he was working at his crappy part-time job as a cashier at a local convenience store.

yunho sighed as he closed his laptop and ran a hand through his messy hair. he should probably go home and shower, he'd been out all day.

with a huff, he stood and collected his things into his tote bag. then, made his way out of the library.

he had gotten into the habit of walking to the library or to places to study since it wasn't too far away from his dorm. plus it gave him time to think and reflect.

these days yunho was becoming more antsy and nervous, mostly because mingi would come back soon.

after all, he was in the same graduating class as wooyoung and jongho.

wooyoung had been mentioning it and yunho had overheard several conversations about who he'd room with. since there was an extra room in the apartment san and yunho stayed in, it was being hinted at that mingi would stay there.

yunho sighed and looked up at the sky. it was grey and would probably rain soon.

he trudged down the sidewalk as the muggy weather clouded around him.
