The next few days were something I was not looking forward too. I hadn't even been home for a full day yet and Nia was already being a pain.
She tried jumping on my lap.
It did not end well.
But thankfully as of right now she was distracted, sorta? I was lying on the sofa across from her and Denny who were currently arguing over who gets the iPad.
Bear purred under my touch as he was laying right beside me watching this show play out.
"Peppa, peppa peppa peppa!" Nia chanted. She picked up a throw pillow from the sofa and threw it at Denny, who had been occupied playing a video on the iPad.
"Why'd you do that, I lost my turn!"
Did I mention they shared an IPad?
"Peppa!"
"No I'm playing a game.!" He refused. My momma walked into the room swooping the iPad from Denny.
"Denny, your 20 minutes are up I told you that 10 minutes ago."
He groaned in annoyance as Nia kept repeating the words peppa in the background.
"It's not fair.!"
"Okay why can I hear y'all, over queen bay at max volume.?" My mom asked as she walked in on this mess.
That was a good question because their bickering was starting to get annoying.
"I think it's time to expand our family."
I glanced at my mom looking at her crazy.
"I hope you don't mean child wise, ma I can't deal with another one!" I exclaimed. She rolled her eyes bringing the iPad up in her hands for me to see.
"We are gonna become a 2 iPad household."
Thank god.
"It's impossible to keep the peace between these two otherwise!" She said gesturing her hands to Nia and Denny. I threw my head back into the sofa.
"You can say that again, if I didn't struggle so much with these crutches I would've been locked myself in my room."
My mom gave me a look that was probably telling me to stop being so irritated but I really couldn't help it. My bed is high off the floor so it's a struggle to get in and out of it, not to mention I struggle to even get basic things. I've been stuck on the sofa ever since I came home because it was easier but honestly these two bickering every second was making death seem like a better option.
My mom shut her textbook looking down at the two kids.
"Alright, I Can take a quick break. Who's ready for pjs and a bedtime story?" She offered smiling at them.
"Can I read it on the IPad?"
"Absolutely not!" My mom scolded him. He let out an exasperated sigh before a knock at the door was heard.
"I'll get that.. grab a book can you-"
"Nia you wanna help me pick one out?" My momma cut her off. My mom made her way to the door and when she opened it I was surprised to say the least.
"Ma what are you doing here?" She said. Ma?!
I hope grandma isn't here right now.
"Well don't act so happy to see me Henrietta!"
Of course it is. Everytime she comes over it's constant old people stories, and she spoils Denny rotten but completely ignores me half the time. I love her but boy is she a lot.
