-So Saturday was a lot to take in. After my mom found out about the night before she and my momma felt bad about it. Trying to bribe me with small gifts and tokens of appreciation to win my affection.
The next day however we got a new addition to the family. My moms had decided to enter the fostering side of life and had been looking to foster for a while. Their social worker finally got back to them and had a little girl placed into our home.
She was placed in our home on Sunday.
It was now Wednesday and let's just say she is a lot.. but on the topic of lights in the family my birthday is in a week and a half, and my graduation was the day before my birthday so cuados to that. I will finally be 18 and hopefully able to start the pursuit of my career.
I still didn't tell my mom about my decision to become a firefighter yet, I wasn't entirely sure how she would react.
She is an awesome paramedic and firefighter so following in her footsteps just feels right. I spent the past few days working overtime at my part time job trying to get my mind set straight. The money was helpful though and I was currently saving for my own apartment as well.
I was in the middle of my thoughts just sitting on the sofa studying for state testing when all of a sudden I got a stuffed animal flown in my face.
I took a deep breath placing my books on the coffee table and looked up to see Denny and Nia throwing toys at each other.
My mom was out visiting Athena's husband and my momma was at work, so that left me at home watching two kids on a Wednesday evening.
"Will you guys stop and clean up this mess" I groaned sitting up to take a full look at everything. Toys scattered around the floor and a lot of stuffed animals on various pieces of furniture.
"It's hot can we turn on the air?" Denny whined completely ignorant to what I just told them. I wiped my hands over my face and sighed.
"Maybe if you would sit down for more than two seconds you wouldn't be hot, and the AC is already on"
Denny picked up Nia who was not much bigger than him and made his way to the kitchen. "I'm gonna make us some chocolate milk" Denny stated. "Yeah go do that I'm going to grab my laptop."
I walked in my room and grabbed the laptop off my bed. The light on the side was not blinking at all which meant it was dead.
Since I had no idea where the charger was I went through clothes, junk, and papers to find it. Throwing shoes back as I searched the closet for the cord.
When it wasn't in there I remembered I had let momma use it. I made my way to her bedroom and reached to grab the charger out the wall socket.
Relieved I walked into the living room to find Denny and Nia sitting around the coffee table, each with a mug of Chocolate milk in their hands.
"Why are you guys in here, go in the kitchen with that."
I stopped in my tracks as I saw Denny going to place his mug on the table, right beside my notes.
Worry consumed me and I felt my heart drop down to my toes.
"Denny no-"
And it was too late. Chocolate milk splattered all over my study material. My school years worth of worksheets, study guides, and notes all gone to waste because of a single glass of milk. The chocolate sticky kind.
"Denny, oh my goodness why are you always so difficult!" I exclaimed putting my laptop down and rushing over to the stack of papers. I picked them up quickly trying to get them as far away from the spill as possible.
