So, today was my first shift with the 118. Well it was nighttime now, my first 24 hour shift at the new station. It felt weird, but their station was so much bigger. Like way bigger then ours.
The bunks were comfier, the sofas were bigger, it was like a mansion. I had to bring the group around sometime or at least send them pictures of this place. If we manage to stay close that is.
"Evan I'm serious the locker room was like the size of a changing stall.!" I said seriously, he was amused by the whole situation laughing at my shocked reaction to the comparison 121-118.
"And you guys all eat together here I mean wow it's like super nice."
He nodded sinking back into the sofa. We hadn't gotten a call since 8pm, it was currently close to midnight. Mostly everyone was hitting the bunks but like Evan I could not sleep for the life of me.
"I'm still kinda worried, what if Francisco actually starts talking to my replacement and invited her to the friend group and then she replaces me in the fantastic four as well!" I exclaimed over exaggerating a tad bit. Just as I said that Eddie walked into the room and looked between the two of us curiously.
"I see someone has a flare for the dramatic."
I sighed flipping back into my seat.
"So what's going on, who's replacing who.?" Eddie asked us.
Evan looked at me before shrugging to avoid the question. Eddie's gaze switched over to me and I finally gave in.
"Okay, okay. I was replaced at the 121 and that's why I'm here. Im afraid that I am gonna lose the connection with my team now that I've switched stations"
Eddie scoffed at that, he walked over the the kitchen counter grabbing a snack from the cabinet.
"Listen, if they are your real friends your still gonna keep in touch. When teams split they don't just ghost everyone forever."
"We'll actually my friend Red and his-"
"Buck, not helping."
Suddenly, the bell rang and everyone was up and at them. I was surprised how fast Captain Nash allowed me to go on calls with them, I was still the man behind most of the time at the 121. It was my first day here and I'm already on calls.!
"Airways clear but her breathings labored." My mom said to chime by looking over the lady. She had gotten hit by a car, from what I've heard the guy didn't even stop! This lady did look familiar though, but with all the crazy calls I've seen I wouldn't be surprised if it's from one of them.
"Is she gonna be okay?!" The husband asked worriedly.
My mom exchanged a look with Cap before looking back over the patient.
"It's okay sweetie help is here you're gonna be fine.!" He assured her, his eyes were filled with fear and love all at once. Love for his wife and fear of their love story being cut short.
"Sir, please step back and let my team do their job." Bobby instructed the guy calmly. I was standing tor the side with Buck watching the whole thing go down, I mean we were the only firefighters who weren't paramedics as well. I Guess you could count Eddie but he was a medic in the army soo, and Bobby but he's the cap!
"Definitely a broken femur here." Chimney said observing her leg. I saw her eyes open for a split second and suddenly it came to me.
"I know her."
Eyes turned to me and my mom looked shocked.
"You do?"
"She's uhh Uhm- oh yeah Mays boss!" I exclaimed as my brain finally decided to work. For once.
