A/N: It's been a while, sorry guys. I've been busy with work and school. Plus my cat is sick so I am stressssssed. Enjoy this new chapter though!!
Nancy was hiding in the bathroom of Steve and Eddie's apartment, she thinks it's probably been half an hour. Robin came over unannounced, or at least Nancy didn't know, so she ran and hid in their bathroom. She thought about it now as she stood in the shower behind the curtains that it was a terrible idea because someone surely would have to go. As soon as she thought that she heard the door open and close a few seconds later. She wondered who it was and hoped it wasn't Robin but then again if it wasn't her she figured Steve and Eddie had heard her say she was hiding in the bathroom. Nancy wanted to peek around the corner and see who it was but she was afraid of it being Robin but she felt compelled to look anyway. Taking a silent breath she told herself she could do it and carefully lifted her shaking hand towards the shower curtain. She was just about to pull it back when the toilet flushing caused her to jump and she made a sound. She threw her hand across her mouth, not daring to even breathe.
"Hello" shit nancy thought, it was Robin. "Steve if that's you I am gonna murder you" Robin spoke slightly menacing and Nancy actually felt a little intimidated by her. "I give you five seconds before I rip that curtain open and jump you" she spoke starting her countdown. Nancy panicked, she had no idea what to do.
"Wait" Nancy decided she didn't want to find out what being jumped by Robin felt even if all she wanted was her touch. The curtain was immediately pulled back at the sound of her voice and Robin was shocked, her mouth falling open and eyes wide. Nancy guessed she didn't think to find her here. "Uh hi" she said softly as she watched Robin blink slowly, probably trying to process what was happening.
"I didn't know you were here" Nancy shrugged in response, she had no good excuse as to explain to Robin why she was in the shower. "How long have you been here?" Robin asked curiously. Nancy thought for a second, she had no idea now.
"Half an hour maybe or forty five minutes, I lost track after six minutes" she laughed lightly hoping to defuse the tension she felt like was filling up the room and slowly suffocating her. Robin stuck her hand out and Nancy grabbed it hoping that Robin wasn't going to make this a big deal.
"Does Steve know you're here" she asked and she nodded, "Eddie too then" she nodded again. "I sure as heck didn't" Robin spoke and Nancy didn't know what to say, I mean what could she say her crush was standing in front of her in the bathroom she was hiding from her in. "Wait" Robin turned to look at Nancy, her eyes narrowing in on her, "Why are you hiding in here?" Nancy opened her mouth to answer but she couldn't think of a solid excuse yet. She debated whether or not she should just tell Robin the truth. "I won't judge you" Robin tried to persuade her to share.
"I heard you come in" she settled on, maybe being vague would work.
"So you hid" Robin laughed but not in a bad way, more like she thought it was funny that Nancy would do that. "Why did you want to hide from me? Do I smell bad" Robin asked, trying to sniff herself, "Wait I know" Nancy gulped, afraid Robin truly did know. "Okay I don't but please tell me, I'm driving myself insane with the possibilities and if I did something wrong or upset you I wanna know so I can fix it cause you're really cool and I'm so glad you're my friend and I would so totally die if we weren't friends anymore and I thought that you were busy so I came here but all I wanted to do was see you-"
"Robin, breathe, I didn't hide because I don't like you. I hid because I like you" Nancy admitted. She watched Robin's concern change to confusion and realized she needed to be more specific. "I like you like you" and then Robin laughed. She laughed so hard her face turned red and tears started coming down her face. Nancy was confused, did Robin really think this was funny.
"I'm sorry, I thought I heard you say you like me like me" Robin said after she caught her breath.
"I did," Nancy smiled softly and watched as Robin stared at her.
"Is this a joke? It's a sick joke if it's a joke" Robin spoke getting upset at her and Nancy got worried because she wouldn't joke about this, how could she.
"No it's not" Nancy grabbed Robin's arm and looked at her, "I like you, I really do. I thought you were strange when I first saw you in the mall and then I thought you were with Steve but when I found out you weren't and you were a lesbian I envied you and I kept my distance. I wondered how you could be so open with your friends about your identity when I felt like I hadn't even figured myself out yet. When you came over to comfort me after my break up with Jonathan I missed you the next day and I wished I had thanked you sooner for that. Every day I wished I could see you and I tried to go to Family Video all the time when I knew you were working. Gosh Robin it's not a joke, I think i'm really in love with you" Nancy rambled on trying to convince Robin she meant every word she was saying and then realized she had called the girl strange. "Not strange in a bad way by the way"
"Nancy Wheeler, you have got it down bad" Robin laughed before leaning closer to her, "Can I kiss you" Nancy nodded and leaned in towards Robin.
