Chapter 47

Edna's POV

I hate how I have to go out with a bodyguard all because some sleaze can't get it through his head that dad and papa are happily married but I do it as it makes them happy. I know Andy doesn't like it either and he only does it to please papa.

During the night Andy asks me to stay at his place and I ring dad to see if it is ok then he puts papa on. They both say yes but somethings not right. There was a lot of noise in the background and I know it wasn't the television. Dad sounded like he had been crying, which is weird as when I left, he was happy. What happened between the time I left and now?

I sit there thinking about it as it has me really worried that something happened, and they haven't told me. I decide to ring papa again to see if he will tell me if not then I'm going home as I don't like this feeling at all.

I ring papa and he doesn't answer and neither does dad or Uncle Tim or Uncle Ant.

I turn to Andy as we were watching a movie in his room and say babe something is going on with my family. None of them will answer their phones and when I rang dad before I knew he had been crying, which is unusual for him he was happy when I left. Andy says he did sound weird when I spoke to him and so did Adam.

So, Andy and I got back in the car, and he drove me home. When I got home and walked inside, I knew something wasn't right. What I don't know.

I walk up the stairs to Uncle Tim's room and knocked on the door and there was no answer, so I walked to dads room and I just got there when papa was coming out of his room with the clothes he had on when I left in his hand with blood on them.

Papa stops and says baby girl what are you doing here? I thought you were staying at Andy's. I was just about to speak, and I hear dad say babe you have a missed call from our baby girl and so do I.

I speak up then and I say ok what's going on why is Uncle Ants car in the drive like it is as he never parks it like that and why do you have clothes with blood on them? Papa says baby girl we need to tell you something. He calls out to dad and dad comes to the door and says hey baby girl what are you doing home? I say to dad something is going on and I want to know what. Papa turns to dad and says we need to tell her babe. Dad nods his head and says yeah ok let's go down to the lounge room.

We walk down to the loungeroom, and I see Andy looking around downstairs and once he sees me, he says babe there is blood on the back veranda.

I turn to papa and say right what is going on. Uncle Ants car is never parked like that? You are holding clothes that have blood on them? Dad grabs my hand and says you need to sit down baby girl. I sit down on the lounge with Andy on one side and papa and dad on the other. Dad sitting on papas lap like they always do.

Papa looks at me and says a couple of hours ago we heard a noise outside so Uncle Tim and I went out to see what it was. When we got out there, we saw that Doctor that is after your dad and he had a gun and it was aimed at me but before he could pull the trigger Uncle Tim jumped in front of me so when he went to shoot me he got Uncle Tim instead. I called an ambulance but when I called it your dad couldn't take it anymore, so he took off in his car. I took Uncle Ants car to find him.

I found him not far from here parked on the side of the road and he was upset so I made him follow me back here. That's why Uncle Ants car is parked like that.

We not long got back from the hospital, and we are just waiting for the police to contact me.

Just as he says that the doorbell rings and Andy gets up to get it as papa wouldn't let dad get it and dad won't let go of papa and they wouldn't let me get it. Andy comes back in followed by 2 police officers. Dad gets up so papa can get up and they ask for papa.
