Aemond's chambers/Many nights ago.
Aenys trailed a finger down Aemond's arm, watching as he slept peacefully against the white sheets, his long hair loose and blanketing his pale shoulders. The darker prince leaned down and pressed a soft kiss onto his scarred eye, listening to his shallow breaths. Aenys hummed to himself before sitting up from the bed. The room was dark except for the flickering light that still burned from within the furnace.
"What is wrong?" Aemond asks, sitting up from the bed, and pressing his hand on Aeny's naked back. The fair prince waking up from Aenys movement. Aenys tilts his head, meeting Aemond's worried gaze. "I don't know." Aenys whispers. Before Aemond can speak and attempt to quell his worries, Aenys leans forward and kisses him, silent.
....
Present.
Aemond marches through the halls, approaching the council room. He slows in stride when he sees his young nephew escorted out of the room. "Jaehaerys." Aemond calls out, halting the governess and the young boy. With a small smile, he kneels beside his nephew. Despite his inner turmoil, he was pleased to see his nephew safe from his travels.
"And when did you return?" Aemond asks the young boy. "He returned in the morrow with his mother on dragonback." The governess states for the prince. Aemond hums, gently tipping Jaehaerys chin and smiling at him. Jaehaerys peers up at him hesitantly, nervous despite him being his uncle. "Take him to his mother." Aemond orders, standing. The governess nods and she guides the prince away.
Aemond watches the boy leave, a weight tightening in his chest.
....
Green Council.
"If we are to break the Sea Snake's blockade, we will need to bolster both the Lannister and Hightower navies." Tyland says
The Maester nods, "We do have need for a new Master of Ships." Maester Owley suggests as he looks towards Aegon.
The council doors open and Aemond strides in, capturing most of the council's attention, including Alicents. "We could offer the title to the young Lord Dalton Greyjoy." Maester Orwley continues
"Aemond. What is your business here?" Alicent asks, shaking her head, confused. "The king summoned me." Aemond says as he passes her seat and towards the war map. "You do not have a seat on this council." Alicent says. She was still angry at her son for his part in starting this war.
Aegon grins. "Aemond is my closest blood and our best sword. I welcome him." Aegon states
Aemond doesn't acknowledge his brother, raising a hand as he grazes his fingers along the war map. "Path to King's Landing is through the Riverlands. We must establish a toehold there, at Harrenhal." Aemond says before stepping away and taking a seat across from his brother.
