Rhaenyra listened in as her council bickered, some were shocked at the return of Lucerys and one other angry. "This is an abomination! What if this boy....." Ser Alfred spat, glaring at Luke. "What if he's a spy for the greens." He sneered
Luke scoffed, leaning against the painted table. "How dare you." Luke sneered "I am loyal to no one but my mother, your Queen. So I'd watch your tongue." Luke growled
Jace placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, reeling him back.
Rhaenyra sighed. "This is a blessing Alfred. Be mindful on how you speak. Now, allow us to move on, to more important matters." She implores
Suddenly and before anyone can speak, the doors slam open, startling the council.
Jace and Luke reach for their swords, as do the knights but they freeze at the sight of their older brother. Aenys strode in, darker and deadlier than ever. His eyes carrying a wrathful look, signaling his slow descent to madness.
"I apologize for my tardiness. I was indisposed." Aenys sneered, slowly coming to a stand beside Alfred. The lord nodded in respect, pleased to see the prince standing at full length.
Luke stared at him with wide eyes, his hand dropping away from his sword. Aenys eyes land on him. But the reaction given was not one he expected. They pass over him, mute and distilled, as if he were just another member of the council.
"How are you faring, my prince?" The maester asked, having been the one to treat him for his wounds. Aenys seemed annoyed at the question. "Perfect, now allow us to continue. Your grace, I ask permission to enter the pit and claim one of the dragons?" Aenys asks
Everyone halted their breathes. Rhaenyra shook her head, confused. "Aenys." She stated with a small unsure laugh. "Brother, you're not serious?" Jace asked, he just lost his dragon and his wife, he is in no shape to claim anything.
"You have Tyraxes, there's no need for you to claim another. Foolish boy." Alfred scoffed
Aenys dark eyes trail towards him. Before anyone can react, he has the lord by the back of his head, slamming his face into the painted table. Alfred shouts in pain, only for it to garble as Aenys continued to slam it again and again against the stone table, completely destroying his head.
Jace stumbles back with wide eyes. Luke stayed still in shock. The Queen covered her mouth but she kept her composure. The rest gasped and stumbled out of their seats.
Aenys kept an even expression, wiping his hand on the back of the corpses shirt. "Ser Steffon, please remove the lords body from the room, it's unsightly." Aenys states
The knight nodded and with the help of another they drag the dead corpse out of the room.
Rhaenyra swallowed thickly. "Aenys." She starts
Jace steps forward before she can say anything she might regret. "Lord Alfred is a traitor mother, before Aenys did you the service of disposing him...." Jace pauses as his eyes move between his mother and his older brother. He straightens. "I was going to inform you of his traitorous acts. He's been sending letters to Aegon claiming him as the one true king. Aenys stopped Alfred from spilling our plans. He did you a service." Jace states, hoping it was enough, even if it was a lie. He never liked the lord in the first place.
Rhaenyra inhales deeply, but she nods. "Thank you Aenys, while I don't agree with your method, as Jace said, you did me a great service." Rhaenyra answers
Aenys barely acknowledges her thanks, staring blankly at the table, but he raised his head. "Then allow me to claim a dragon, as a reward, I want your blessing." Aenys asked, finally meeting her gaze.
Rhaenyra sighs, placing her hands on the table, peering over the nervous councilmen. "You have it." Rhaenyra states
....
Rhaenyra and her children stood at the spectators ledge, watching as Aenys strode to the dragon keepers. Luke approached her side. "I don't think this is a good idea mother, he just came back from the dead." Luke whispered
Rhaenyra peers over at her son. "What will you have me do. Look at him, there's nothing but anger." Rhaenyra states
Something seemed to have changed in Aenys, or snap back in place. But all anyone knows, he was done being the spectator in his own story. Aemond took too much from him, using his love and kindness against him.
The brutal prince was done holding back.
Aenys stood over the dragons ledge, peering into darkness. With a sharp whistle, he called for the beast lurking deep within the cavern.
For a few moments, there was no movement nor sound. Everyone stilled their breath, waiting in anticipation.
Suddenly the sounds of a deep growl penetrated the cave. The dragon keepers readied their spears before them. Aenys stayed still, his eyes raising as a black dragon with deep green eyes approached.
Jace gaped up at the dragon. "The Cannibal." He whispered
Rhaenyra's eyes widened and fear for the boy she saw as her son, grew. Luke placed a hand on her shoulder, anxiety curling at his chest. He knew his brother was fierce and could accomplish just about anything, but the Cannibal has been known to be volatile, even more so than his own dragon Vermithor.
That dragon down there earned his name.
Aenys raised his chin defiantly, feeling the puffs of air the dragon released. The beast almost seemed to foam at the mouth.
"Naejot Māzīs." Aenys orders, raising his hand before him. He had claimed the great and deadly Tarraxes. The Cannibal was nothing compared to the dual headed beast. Come forth.
Cannibal lowered its head, slowly approaching Aenys confident form, noticing the lack of fear in the humans gaze. "Soves." Aenys states with an almost beastly growl. Obey.
With a soft growl, the dragon softly laid its muzzle along Aenys palm, allowing himself to be claimed by a broken prince. A prince who knew only pain and hardship like the dragon itself. They were a perfect match.
"Amazing." Rhaenyra breathes
Lucerys remembered the feeling of claiming Vermithor after he had lost Arrax. He was filled with grief and guilt. It almost masked the feeling of joy. But he knew Aenys was unlike him. He saw it in his eyes, the same eyes that passed over him. He was an empty shell, filled with rage.
Rage he was ready to unleash.

A/N
Yayy we're getting deranged Aenys. This was the moment I was building for. I know Aenys hadn't been doing much. I mean this season hasn't really been giving us a lot of action, other than killing an innocent child and my Queen Rhaenys. Like I know it wasn't going to happen but I was looking for the battle of the gods eye! Like I love Aemond and his smexy self, but he made me so angry!
And I couldn't help but bring back Luke! It was in the plans the whole time. I made sure I wrote the fight between Aemond and him perfectly so he didn't die. Instead of Luke being eaten whole like in the show, it was just Arraxs head.
I honestly didn't know how I was going to write the reunion between Luke and Aenys, so I didn't lol. Nah I'm kidding, there's a reason for everything yall.
And yes I killed Astoria, which leaves Dorne without a Queen and Amora without a mother, but I got a plan.
Also if you knew who Alfred is in the books, you'll know why I had to kill him. I mean it's pretty much shown in the HBO adaptation. Alfred is the one who pretty much handed Rhaenyra to Aegon.
Anyways, comment and leave your thoughts! Bye!
