Kingslanding.
Alicent stood at the window with Jaehaera in her arms, she admired the sky as she let her mind clear of any thought. Her silence was interrupted by the sound of silence, she turned and she sees her daughter enter the chambers. She carefully hands her granddaughter to the nursemaid, who bows and retreats, not before greeting the queen.
Helaena looks at her mother, trying to find the words to say to her. But her grief and anger haven't truly entered her body. "I-I I feel sad about Jaehaerys." Helaena starts, and slowly she approaches her bugs, needing a distraction. Her fingers skimmed the trinket given to her by Astoria. A small, marble rose. Helaena finds that she is unable to look her mother in the eyes, but she forces herself anyway.
"Mm, but I ought not to, I think. People die all the time, especially babes. They're so little, s-so they're taken so easily." Helaena admits, her heart filled with loss, but she doesn't allow herself to break down.
Alicent carefully kneels beside her daughter. "Sadness is a condition of motherhood. There's naught to be gained from it." Alicent says
The two fall silent, listening to the crickets chirp.
Helaena inhales deeply. "That horrid procession where the smallfolk all stared at me. I warrant they thought I had no more right to grief than they do. Surely they lose their babes more than highborn ladies." Helaena says as she stares at her hands as they nudge the small wooden cage.
"The Stranger comes for us all...queen and commoner. You have as much claim to grief as anyone." Alicent says
Helaena looks up, meeting her mother's gaze. "And you?" Helaena asks, tilting her head to the side.
Alicent inhales a trembling breath, playing with her necklace. "I loved Jaehaerys, but my concern has been more for you and what you have endured." Alicent says, watching as her daughter stands, facing away from her, as if she could not bear to hear her mother speak of her, of her loss and pain, as if she had any right to it. Helaena continued to blame herself, she had made the choice. She would have to live with it.
"Uh, Helaena, I..." Alicent struggles
Realizing quickly that her mother was not only here to comfort her but to speak about what else she had seen that night. Helaena looks at her mother. "I forgive you."
Alicents eyes widen, confused. "What?" Alicent asks
Helanea nods, her wide eyes staring deeply into her mother's. "I said that I forgive you."

Dragonstone/The next day.
Mysaria approached her son's chambers with a stoic man behind her, wearing a long overcoat that almost resembled rags. His features were beautiful and sharp, unique compared to Westeros people.
She enters without much warning with a knock on the thick doors, spotting her son at his desk. "Ah, mother." Aenys says as he looks up, making a face at the stranger but ignoring him in favor of greeting his mother. The prince attempted to stand but his mother motions him to stay seated, knowing he would pull at his wound.
"My love, I hope I am not interrupting you?" Mysaria asks as she approaches his desk. Aenys shakes his head, putting away the letter he was previously reading. "You could never, who's our friend?" Aenys asks as he takes a sip of his wine. "Your new sworn sword, since Ben and Esmund have retreated to their castles and....Erryk. His name is Daario Varys from Myr." Mysaria states
Aenys hums, amused. "My sworn sword? Shouldn't it be I who picks?" Aenys asks, forcing himself to stand, not allowing his wound to weaken him in front of the stranger.
Mysaria sighed, she knew he would have an issue, but since this attack on the Queen and his now healing wound, she needed her son safe. Having someone she trusted to ensure it was required. "I trust him. Please allow your mother this." Mysaria asks softly. Aenys sighs, gently cupping his mother's cheek. "Fine, but he will be kept on a short lease." Aenys says, making a point to shoot the man a look.
Mysaria nods, smiling relieved. "I'll leave you both to be acquainted." Mysaria says, quickly dismissing herself before her son can say anything. Aenys sighs as he watches her leave before looking at the quiet man.
"What part of Myr are you from?" Aenys asks, approaching his desk with the stoic man following. "Stormhollow, a small village, with a population of 100." Daario states
Aenys hums, "Wasn't Myr a part of the Triarchy, the very same alliance me and Lord Corlys destroyed?" Aenys asks with a smirk, hoping to bristle the man, to get a reaction. But he gets nothing, barely a reaction. "I believe it is, but like I said, small village. People from small villages don't care for their master's doings, very little with this alliance that you speak of." Daario says
Aenys approaches the man. "For my mother, I will not kill you, nor will I flee your...presence without at least some warning." Aenys says, motioning with his hands, rolling his eyes. "I understand you are doing your duty so I will give you the honor of that. But there are things you must understand. I have a dragon so that includes many flights where you can not follow, so when I'm gone you will answer to my brother, Jace. When he is gone, you will service yourself to the Queen. But most of the time I will be on a ship with my men, so you will be there as my sworn sword. Is this understood?" Aenys asks
Daario nods. "Of course your grace." Daario says
Aenys chuckles, eyeing him. "Do you bathe?" Aenys asks
Daario hums, confused. "I-I do, your grace." Daario says
Aenys, nods, "Mmh, do it more frequently. We can't have you covered in dirt and blood, especially in my stepmother's presence." Aenys says, eyeing his sweaty form. "I apologize, I came from a long voyage, we came across pirates and Lady Mysaria didn't give me much chance once I had disembarked." Daario says
The prince chuckles. "That's my mother." Aenys says, amused. "I'll have the maids draw you a bath and then you can start your services. You're dismissed." Aenys says
Daario nods.

Manny Jacinto as Daario Varys from Myr
The Sworn Sword
A/NNew character alert!!!! He's so pretty! And yes his name is Daario, he won't have familial ties with Daenerys, Daario, or he can, I'll leave that to your imagination. Both are from the free cities so it's a possibility! Anyways, question? I'm contemplating adding him as a love interest. Obviously not endgame. Should I?
