Astoria stood over her husband's corpse, her eyes void of emotion. Behind her, the Queensguard brought in the heads of Terraxes, setting them beside their rider. The Queen brought her hand up and gently placed it on Aenys ashen cheek. "Don't worry my love, all will be well." She states

The Queen of Dorne stepped away and allowed her brother to approach. The dark Martell fell to his knees, sobbing. Astoria continued to walk away, listening to her brother's cries.

....

Jacerys stood at the edge of the beach, allowing the ocean to soak through his clothes. His dragon circled overhead, crying out.

"You will get your battle, I promise you brother."

Aenys words echoed throughout the beach, almost taunting him.

With the death of Rhaenys and now the death of his brother, everything pointed in one direction, war. And nothing will stand in his way. He will get his revenge, for Lucerys and for Aenys.

....

Mysaria cried in her queens arms, sobbing as she clutched to her chest. Rhaenyra allowed her tears to fall, her eyes fluttering to the entrance of the chambers, finding her oldest son, watching.

Jacerys gaze was bare of emotions.

Everything in her screamed for war. Nothing is stopping what's to come.

Suddenly a loud roar trembled over Dragonstone. Everyone held their breathes as they stared up at the ceilings. Jacerys hand flies to sword.

Something great, shadowed over the castle, drenching them in darkness, leaving nothing but the torches for light.

Mysaria raises her red face, closing her eyes as if accepting the doom to come. For the first time in her life, she wished for the gods she did not believe in to kill her, to take her to the only good thing she had. To take her to her son.

When nothing descends upon them, Jacerys marches out of the chambers, ignoring his mother's calls.

....

Rushing down the beach, he stops in his tracks as he eyes land on a figure, dismounting a dragon he could not recognize. Brown hair, coiled in tight curls was the first thing he recognized. Curls that matched his.

"Lucerys." Jacerys breathes in disbelief, shaking his head, scared it was a dream.

Luke turned, his curly hair brushing his shoulders. His brown eyes shine with the scales of his dragon. Luke smiles, stepping away from his new mount and approaches his shell shocked brother.

"Brother." He breathes

Jacerys lets out a sharp exhale, rushing across the beach and bringing his brother in a tight hug, filled with disbelief and hope.

"How." He whispers

Luke melts in his brother's arms, closing his eyes. "It's a fucking long story." He whispers

....

Rhaenyra stood at the steps of the castle, shocked and in disbelief as her two sons approached her. Her hands trembled, scared that she was hallucinating.

"Luke." She whispers with a soft sob, ignoring the added presence at her back.

Astoria watched as Rhaenyra broke rank and ran to her sons, grasping Lucerys in a tight hug, afraid that if she let go, he would disappear.

Melting in his mother's arms, he allows his tears free, clutching to her arms. After a few moments of comfort, Lucerys opens his eyes and he peers over his mother's shoulder, meeting Astorias gaze. His amber eyes look around, searching for Aenys.

Rhaenys continued to hold her son as she cried into his neck, shocked and relieved to have her little pearl back. "How is this possible." She sobs, pulling back to stare into Lucerys gaze.

Luke smiles relived, happy to be back in his mother's arms. "Vhagar missed me...well most of me, actually." Luke states, finally revealing his missing limb, making Rhaenyra gasp. "Don't fret mother, I'm fine. It did hurt, excruciatingly but I was found by this brilliant woman who nursed me to health. As soon I was on my feet, I began working to earn enough money for the first ship to Dragonstone...unfortunately it was taking quite awhile. Missing a limb does tend to come with disadvantages." Lucerys says with a harsh chuckle.

Rhaenyra holds back her whimper but she nods, allowing him to continue. Despite the loss, Lucerys return was a balm to the pain they were experiencing.

Jace forced himself to look away so he didn't begin crying in front of his brother. He knew he should be happy but it was hard when he just lost another valued sibling.

"But I didn't allow it to deter me, that's until Vermithor found me." Lucerys says, peering over to his golden dragon. "He's no Arrax...." Lucerys feels a sob rise to his throat at the thought of his dead dragon, but he stifled it. "Vermithor is a grump but a loyal dragon." Lucerys finishes

Suddenly he notes to tense atmosphere, he assumed his return would lighten them up, he knew they must've mourned. "Mother...are you not happy of my return?" Lucerys asks

Rhaenyra lots a sob/laugh, shaking her head as she takes her son in her arms. "Of course I am....its just...." Rhaenyra trails off, struggling to form the words. She knew how close Luke was to Aenys, how much he looked up to him.

Jace releases a sob, stifling it hard within his palm. Jaces shoulders shook. Luke's eyes widen in shock and confusion. "Jace?! Mother what is going on?" Luke asks, he heard of the war that loomed over the kingdom but there was no losses that have been reported, other than the tragic death of young Jaehaerys.

Rhaenyra swallows harshly, barely able to contain her emotions. "Aenys is dead." Rhaenyra sobs

Lucerys features fell. The young prince stumbled back as he felt the world collapse on him. "No." Luke says, shaking his head as if he couldn't believe it. Aenys was untouchable. He couldn't be dead.

His wide eyed gaze fell on Astoria. "It's not true, tell me it's not true Astoria!" Luke pleads, stumbling towards her. The Queen watched emotionlessly. "It's true." She states

Luke collapses to his knees, shell shocked. Rhaenyra slowly moves to her knees at his side, hugging him close to her form, kissing the top of his head as she cried with him. Everything came to her at once, but what sang the loudest was that her boy was back. Her pearl, her love. She will mourn, but she needed to take in the miracle that she was gifted, even as said miracle sobbed in her arms, mourning for his brother.

....

A/N

Oh yeah! Luke is back!!!

Honestly this wasn't how I wanted it to go, but it just came, the words flowed and this is where I landed. I didn't mean to kill Aenys, honestly.
