Aenys has returned and for revenge. No title mattered when it came to family.
With the death of his ward, the boy he saw as a son, he knew nothing can stand in the way, not even love.

"Brother you've returned."
Aenys stops his movements in favor of facing his brother. Jace and Baela stood side by side, returning from the yard. Baela was holding a crossbow, which he chose to ignore for the moment. "My wife thought my use is better here." Aenys says
Baela grins, amused. "No need to lie brother. If she's anything like me, I would find your presence dreary." Baela says
Aenys chuckles, shaking his head. "Thankfully she is not like you then, she finds joy in my presence." Aenys says
Jace hums, making a face like he disagrees. "I have to agree with my betrothal, you brood too much, no fun." Jace teases
Aenys scoffs. "Are you challenging me, brother?" Aenys asks
Jace lifts his hands in surrender, smirking. Baela chuckles, making Aenys look back at her. "How about you, dear sister?" Aenys asks "Oh no, I find no entertainment in swords. I'll leave that to you. But it was good to see you." Baela says fondly. Aenys tilts his head, "And where are you off to?" Aenys asks
Baela straightens, proud. "I am off to patrol the skies near kingslanding. The queen has embarked me on the most honorable mission." Baela says, ignoring Jace's wary sigh, he was growing antsy doing nothing.
Aenys nods, impressed. "Well let's hope the greens don't do anything foolish, for you and Moondancer are formidable in the skies." Aenys says "Actually brother, she is to do nothing but report. The Queen wants no one engaging." Jace says, sending his betrothal a look, reminding her.
Baela sighs.
Aenys grins, amused. "Don't worry, you both will get your spill of the blood. And if you don't want that blood to be yours then you need to be patient." Aenys says, making sure to meet his brother's eyes. He knew he wanted to avenge his brother by winning this war, but he couldn't risk himself in the process.
"No truer words." Came a voice from behind. The three of them turned and bowed their heads as Rhaenrya approached, earning a fond smile. She motions for them to raise their heads, "It is good to have you back, Aenys, we will speak later. I came to see Baela off." Rhaenyra says
Aenys nods, departing but not before pressing a kiss on his sister's cheek, squeezing her arm supportively. Baela in return offers him a nod.
Both Jace and Aenys enter the castle, leaving the Queen and princess.

Jace paced his chambers as his brother poured them a drink. "I'm growing weary of this wait brother. I need to be doing something." Jace says, taking the offered cup of wine as he continues to pace, likely to wear out the rug.
Aenys sits down and he watches his brother. "You are just like Luke...." noting the way Jace stiffened. "He would always complain to me that he was bored and wanted a real battle. And no matter how many times I humored him...he hated staying home while I left for the stepstones." Aenys says, his fingers tightening around the glass.
