Almost a year had passed and I finally felt more settled, my room started to look more like my own, the walls were painted a nice lilac colour, and photos of me and my new family were placed over my desk. I've always been a photo person, they can be nice to look back on.

It was coming to the end of September and our 13th birthdays were a few days away. Reginald thought this would be the perfect time for us to gather for a family portrait. Well, I say family portrait, an Umbrella Academy portrait was the proper name for it.

As I stood in the mirror sorting out my hair, I could hear my name being called in a funny way, I knew exactly who it was.

Klaus.

Just on cue, Klaus opened my door, still singing my name.

"Ah, there you are! I knew you would be in here!" I couldn't help but laugh at Klaus' manner. He smiled cheekily at me and plopped down on my bed, watching me sorting my hair.

"What? You knew I would be in my room? How clever of you." I joked back, Klaus and I just got each other, our sense of humour seemed to bounce off each other effortlessly.

"I'm going to ignore your sarcastic manner, we have more pressing matters to discuss," Klaus spoke, slowly trying to sound like Reginald as he spoke.

"Oh dear," I responded, changing my tone.

"What pose are you going for? I was thinking about the good old hand behind-the-back pose. What do you think?" He stood up and did the pose mockingly.

I couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

"Well, I was thinking of just being told what to do. I just want to be in a comfy position because we are going to have to pose for like, what? A good few hours." I said as I reached for my mask that lay on my desk.

Just before Klaus could speak a bell chimed, signalling us to head towards the living room.

"Well, you better pick a comfy position soon." I joked again as we left my room.

Once we had all gathered, Reginald told us where to stand. Luther, of course, was placed at the highest point, with Allison placed to the right slightly lower than him. Reginald placed me on Luther's left, with Five standing next to me.

Great, the one person I want to stand next to for hours.

In the front row stood Klaus, Diego and Ben. Once we were all ready, we picked our pose. I decided to follow Klaus and put my hand behind my back, my arm slightly brushed against Five's forearm, as he decided to place his hands in his pockets.

Five gave me a scowl, to which I responded with a big sarcastic grin. This was going to be torture for both of us.

The painter got set up and reminded us not to move or not make as little movement as possible. With this, we all stared forward and hoped that time would go at 2 times the speed.

A few hours had passed since the painter started his masterpiece. We all tried our best to maintain our poses but after 3 hours we all began to fidget a little. The painter then decided that the best way to move forward with the next section was to do it in parts.

The painter then suggested that Reginald, Luther, Allison and Ben stay for the first part, then Diego and Klaus and then finally Five and I.

Great, not only do I have to wait all day for my part to be completed but I have to stand next to Five alone for God knows how long.

Whilst Reginald and the others stayed to get their section done, the rest of us were guided towards the kitchen by Grace.

"Would you children like some food?" She smiled at us as we all took a seat at the kitchen table. The thought of food seemed to cheer us all up as we nodded.
