On the way to Meritech Prosthetics, Five gave me the rundown of what was happening, although he was very sceptical about the underlying reason for going in the first place. My gut said that whatever the reason, it wasn't good.

"But why do you need to know about this stupid eye anyway?" I asked whilst walking behind Five, who seemed deep in thought. Five abruptly stopped walking, causing me to nearly bump into him.

"I doubt that is any of your concern," Five snapped, eyes narrowing at me. Before I had a chance to respond, he turned back around and carried on walking.

Jesus, he didn't need to be so rude about a simple question.

As we started to walk again, Klaus nudged me a little.

"Don't worry about him; he didn't even tell me," Klaus flashed me a cheeky smile. I couldn't help but smirk a little at his comment.

"Yeah, but do you actually care? Or do you just want your money?" I raised an eyebrow at him, knowing exactly how he would respond. Klaus laughed a little before answering.

"Okay, you've got me there! It is certainly nice to have our banter back, Charlotte." He slapped my shoulder playfully, just like he used to do when we were kids. I did my best not to flinch at his action but failed. Luckily for me, he didn't seem to notice.

I had to admit that it was nice to see that Klaus and I could pick up from where we left off, even if it wasn't fully like before. Unlike Five, he didn't really seem to care about the intricate details of my whereabouts and just seemed happy that I was back in his life. It was a shame to see that Klaus carried on with the drug and alcohol route, meaning that he probably never controlled his powers in the way Dad intended. Maybe if I had stayed, things would have been different.

"You know I can hear you 2, right?" Five asked in a monotone voice.

Klaus and I exchanged a look before Five stopped in front of us again, placing his hands in his pockets.

"Anyway, we are here," Five turned to Klaus, "Klaus, are you sure you know what you are doing? We only have one chance at this." Klaus rolled his eyes and stepped forward, placing his hands on Five's shoulders, at which Five raised an eyebrow.

"Listen, little brother -" Klaus began.

"Nope, that's not correct," Five interrupted. I could see the faith he had in Klaus slowly leaving his face. But Klaus ignored this.

"I have got your back; you have nothing to worry about," Klaus smiled down at Five, hoping this would reassure him, but all Five did was roll his eyes and waft away his arms.

"This is going to be an absolute shit show," Five muttered under his breath as he walked up the stairs to the office. Klaus turned to look back at me, his eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"Was it something I said?" Klaus asked, shrugging his shoulders. I took a step forward and began to follow behind Five.

"Just ignore him; he hasn't had his afternoon nap." A smug smile made its way onto my face, slightly surprised Five didn't hear my little comment.

Once inside, Five spoke to the receptionist, demanding to talk to a doctor. At first, the receptionist was a little hesitant, but eventually, she called for a doctor and showed us to an office with glass walls.

I'm not going to lie; I would hate working in an office with glass walls. I like my privacy, thank you very much.

I looked around the room and couldn't help but notice the lack of colour. It was all different shades of white or grey, which gave the office a medical feel.
