Chapter Fifteen:
A wave of nausea hit me as I stood up from the couch. I ran to the bathroom.
"Sweetheart, are you okay?" Tyler stood behind me, holding my hair up. Me, I was puking my guts out.
There went the delicious breakfast my boyfriend made me. Waffles, french toast, and eggs. Down the damn toilet. Such a great way to start the day. "Were those eggs bad?" I asked after I wiped my mouth.
"No, they don't expire for at least a week."
Then why...? My mind searched for an answer to my sickness. It's not the flu, I would have more symptoms than just nausea. The food could've just not set well with my stomach.
"Do you feel any better? Do you need Gatorade or Verners? I can run to the store and get you something." Tyler, playing the sweet boyfriend role. He's been acting differently since our fight. I guess I have, too. He's still a condescending asshole, but he has more bursts of kindness.
"No, I'm fine. I guess my stomach didn't agree with my food." I smiled reassuringly.
He looked at me, worriedly, a few moments longer and then shook his head. "Okay, well brush your teeth, I won't kiss you with vomit breath."
"But, babe." I joked, reaching for him. "I thought you loved me, but you won't even kiss me."
He laughed. "I do love you, but you just threw up. And if you've ever kissed someone after that, it's not pleasant." He had a point.
I grabbed my toothbrush and the toothpaste and then brushed my teeth. "Happy now? Vomit free breath. Kiss me." I poked out my lips.
His met mine and I leaned into him. He pulled back just a little. "Care to join me in the shower?" His grin suggested more than just cleansing ourselves.
"Oh, I don't know about that. Have you earned it?" I turned to the tub.
"I believe I have." I turned the knob to turn on the shower and the water poured down.
"Yes, you might have." I laughed as he pulled my shirt over my head, his was removed next. We shed the rest of our clothes and stepped behind the curtain into the steaming water. As I guessed, his intentions weren't completely pure.
*****
"You can't just leave me for my brother. That's favoritism and I should be your favorite, Rebeca. Last time I checked I was your best friend." I folded my arms over my chest, jokingly glaring at the person who just told me she was leaving. For the weekend, might I add.
She snorted. "You are my best friend, but Hunter and I want to get away. Zach needs the place to himself for a few days, and you and Tyler seem to be doing great."
"We are, but I need you right now."
"Why is that?"
"Because I need bonding time."
She glared at me. "We can have bonding time when I get back on Monday."
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm jealous of my brother right now. We haven't had best friend time since Tyler and I had that fight... three weeks ago. I'm having withdrawals."
The laughter is so contagious that I started to laugh, breakiing my serious look. "It's not funny. I'm being serious."
"I know, and I'm having withdrawals, too. But I'll be back on Monday. Two days from now. You'll live without me, somehow."
"Fine," I threw my hands up in defeat. "Where are you two lovebirds going, anyway?"
"I'm not sure, he didn't tell me. All he said was to pack clothes appropriate for water. So I'm guessing a beach."
"Lucky. Bring me back a souvenir because I'm always on your mind." I blew her a kiss as she walked towards my door.
"Of course, dahling." She blew me a kiss back, leaving as I erupted into a fit of giggles.
I glanced at the clock. I have a few hours before Tyler gets back from his boy's day. I decided to clean the apartment. It's not messy, but it's not the neatest ever.
I grabbed the cleaner and wiped down everything. I vaccumed the living room, our rooms -we share both of our rooms now- and the hallway. I cleaned the bathroom, and took a load of laundry to the laundry room. Once I got back, I started to mop the kitchen floor. I was almost completely done, when Tyler came home and walked into my already mopped floor, with his shoes on.
"I swear I will beat you if you don't get out of this kitchen right this minute." I raised the mop threateningly. I was almost totally kidding, but Tyler does what I say.
I remop the area he was in. "Have you been cleaning all day?"
"Well Beca came over for an hour earlier, but pretty much since she left. I had nothing to do while you were gone. I was bored out of my mind. I missed you." I set my cleaning weapon down and jumped into his arms.
He kissed me and carried me to the couch. He sat down with me in his lap. His arms wrapped securely around my waist, mine wrapped securely around his neck. I deepened the kiss as his hands slowly traveled beneath my shirt.
As his fingers stroked my sides, mine curled into his hair. His fingers skimmed my waist, wrapping around the hem of my shirt. I eagerly lifted my arms. My shirt landed somewhere on the floor. His landing somewhere else. He stood up, holding on to me. We lost our clothing as we make our way to the closest bed. He gently layed me down and I knew my evening wasn't going to be boring.
*****
The sound of Tyler's snoring woke me up. I blinked a few times and tried to get up. Tyler's arm stopped me, when he rolled over. His face centimeters from mine. He looks so cute when he's asleep. I didn't want to wake him, but I needed to pee.
I tried to escape his embrace. Failing miserably. If I keep this up, he's going to wake up, maybe not too happy. So instead of accidentally waking him up, I did it on purpose. I pressed my lips to his and he stirred. He opened his eyes and smiled.
"Well, that was a great way to wake up." He went to kiss me again, but I stopped him.
"I woke you up because I gotta pee. But you're kinda trapping me." I gestured to his arm around me.
"Fine, but you better come back."
"Where would I go?"
He let me up and I headed to the bathroom. I don't bother shutting the door, I would be surprised if anyone just walked through the front door this early.
I stood in front of the mirror, taking in my terrible appearance. My hair could only be explained because of the sex. I brushed my teeth and tried to brush through my hair.I went back to my room and pounced on the boy, already falling back to sleep. "Wake up. I need your measurements." I said this with inspiration.
"My what?" His voice is so sexy right now, I contemplate laying down and kissing him.
"You need something to wear to your sister's wedding in a two months. Now, get up."
"Lay down. We can do this later. I want you right now." He grabbed my legs that were straddling his sides.
I leaned forward. "Too bad. I'm inspired." I stood up, trying to pull him with me. "Come on," I pulled and he finally rolled out of the bed.
He landed on the floor with a bang and I laughes. "Sweetheart, that wasn't very nice." He stood up and trapped me in his arms.
"Tyler." He kissed my neck. "I really wanna do this but you're making it almost impossible." I sighed, he's trying to distract me.
I pulled from his grasp and grabbed my measuring tape. "Stand still and straight." I get his measurements and send him to make breakfast.
I draw my imagination in my sketchpad. The tux is simple, but elegant. I start the process of turning a drawing into a real thing. This is going to be perfect.
