It's been almost three weeks since I've seen Y/n. We just haven't had time to hang out. One of us is always busy, unfortunately. She's always at work, and I'm always working on my new project. There's just so no time ever.
I'm currently sitting in the studio with Finneas working on another song. I actually really like this one. Nothing about it you can hate. My phone dings, and I grab it. When I look at it, it's a text from Y/n. I smile.
"Let me guess," Finneas says. "Y/n?" I put my phone down and look at him. "Go ahead. Answer it," he says with a smile on his face. I grab my phone again. "I'm happy you found a person as good as her," I give him a weird look.
"What do you mean?" He shakes his head and gets his phone out. "Are you going to ignore my question?"
"I'm just saying. It's nice to see you happy," he says. I just roll my eyes and put my phone down.
"Okay, let's get this done and over with. I have plans later," he smiles, and we start working again.
-
"So why did you want me to come to your house?" I ask Y/n as she walks out of her front door.
"I want to show you something," she says, walking over to her car and opening the passenger door.
"Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?" I ask, walking over to her. She laughs.
"And face most of the world hating me? Of course not. Why if I were to do that," she says, getting closer to me. "I would've done it already," she says softly. "Get in the car," I do as she says, and she closes the door, walking to the drivers side. She turns on the car and starts driving.
After about fifteen minutes, she stops. I look out of my window and see an open pasture. I look at her and give her a weird look. She smiles.
"Do you trust me?" She asks. I take a second and then nod. "Good," she gets out of the car and walks around to the passenger side, and opens the door for me. She holds out her hand, and I take it. She helps me out of the car and closes the door. "Follow me," she says, and I do. She steps over a small barbed fence and looks at me.
"You expect me to get over that?" I ask her. She rolls her eyes.
"Don't be a princess. Come on," she holds her hand out, and I grab her hand, and she helps me over the fence. "See, it wasn't so bad, was it?"
"What is it that you want to show me?" I ask her.
"I want to show you where I come to think," she says. I gave her a confused look. "You see that group of trees over there in the middle of the pasture?" I nod, looking in the direction that she's pointing. She starts walking to it. "There's a little nook in a tree in the middle of it. I go there to clear my head," she looks back at me. "Are you coming or what?" I smile and follow her. We walk through the trees, and just like she said in the middle, there's a tree in the middle with a little nook in it that she seemed to have decorated. There's a small blanket on the ground with a pile of books and notebooks on top of it. There are string lights wrapped around the tree. "I used to walk here when I was younger. Took almost an hour from my house," she laughs. "I know this probably isn't what you expected," she went to sit on the blanket. "But I've been waiting to show somebody else this. I don't know why it was you I wanted to show, but you are," I smile. She pats the ground next to her, and I sit by her.
"You've decorated it well," I tell her.
"Thanks, I was like fifteen, sixteen maybe, when I did that. I haven't been here in a while and I remembered it the other day. This is where I come to be alone. I might come here more often now that I have remembered it, so if you can't get ahold of me at some point, I'll probably be here," I laugh.
"Noted," I say. "You're right, though. This is not what I expected you to show me," now she laughs.
"At least you know I didn't bring you somewhere to kill you," I roll my eyes.
"You still could,"
"You're right. Perhaps I will grab some of the string lights and wrap them around your neck and choke you with them," she says while tracing her fingertip down the side of my neck.
"Perhaps," I mock her. "You might," she laughs again. I take a deep breath. "This does get you some fresh air,"
"One of the many good things that come with this. Although, you can't stay here after dawn. This is trespassing," she says, whispering the last part.
"You trespassed just to find this?" I ask her.
"Don't get mad at me now. You're already here. Besides, I was a kid when I found this. I didn't know it was trespassing until after I got caught,"
"And you still came back here?"
"It was relaxing here. I wasn't gonna let some grumpy old man take away the one place I felt at ease. Besides, the thrill of getting caught was always exhilarating to me," she smiled and nodded.
"You really have a way with words," I tell her.
"I've been told that once or twice," she admits.
"Well, whoever said it before was right," I grab one of the notebooks to my side and open it. Y/n quickly grabs it out of my hands and puts it on her side.
"I think we better get going," she says, standing up. She holds her hand out. I grab her hand, and she helps me up. I follow her back out through the trees. We make our way through the pasture again. We get back to the fence, and she goes over it first, again helping me over it. We get to the car, and she opens the passenger door for me. I get in, and she shuts the door. She gets in the driver's seat and starts driving. The whole car ride was silent. About halfway through the ride, I leaned against the door and closed my eyes. I eventually fell asleep.
-
I woke up in a bright ass room. This isn't my room. I quickly recognize the room as Y/n's. I sigh. I grab my phone to see a text from Y/n.
Y/n: I had to leave for work. I will be back by seven if you are still at my house. You're free to stay there for as long as you'd like.
It's two o'clock. Did I really sleep that long? Well, I don't have anything better to do with my day, so I might as well just stay here until she gets back. I want to talk to her.
I get out of her bed and go to her closet. I take one of her shirts and grab a pair of shorts from her dresser. I walk to her bathroom and take a shower.
After I showered, I went to the kitchen to get food. I went through her fridge to see if I could find something that I could eat. I eventually found something that I could. I went to her living room and turned on the TV.
By four o'clock I started getting bored. Maybe I should've gone home. I mean, it's not like I would've had anything better to do. I would've just done the same thing there as I am here. I grab the blanket off the back of the couch and lie down. I keep watching the TV until I eventually fall asleep.
