Rhea felt sick to her stomach.

It was finally the day of Ben's coronation, the day he and the girls had been waiting for since Ben and Rhea were twelve and Talia was eleven, yet all those years of waiting hadn't prepared Rhea for the nerves she felt.

She was pacing around her room, still in her pyjamas, "Sit still," Talia mumbled, only having been awake for a couple minutes, "you're stressing me out."

"Tals, it's coronation day - there's a much bigger problem if you aren't stressed!"

Talia rolled her eyes at the overly stressed girl, sure it was an important day but Talia had yet to leave her bed, never mind eat, "Rhea, we can stress later, but for now toss some clothes on and we'll go to breakfast."

And so Rhea tossed on a pair of sweatpants and a tube top to eat breakfast. When Talia saw her she smiled a little since she would soon be one of the most powerful people in Auradon and yet she wore her laziest outfit. Even her shoes were lazy, she was wearing her pink unicorn slippers.

"The fact you are wearing this the same day you are going to wear a gorgeous custom dress is so funny to me." The younger girl laughed.

"Shut up," she muttered lazily, "let's just go get some food."

And so the two girls headed down to the cafeteria to get their breakfast. There were barely any students there, maybe twenty scattered across the huge hall, and this meant the girls didn't have to wait in an obnoxious line to get a pastry. Rhea figured it was Coronation Day jitters, although she didn't get why people with no involvement would be worried.

She didn't care enough to ponder this further, and used tongs to grab two chocolate stuffed croissants for herself, before handing the tongs to Talia to get her pain au chocolat.

Rhea searched the hall to see if her brother was there, but to no avail. However, she spotted Jay sitting alone. Talia must have also spotted this since she turned to speak to Rhea, "Do you mind if I ditch you to eat with Miranda, I need to ask her about a chemistry paper we have," she spoke softly as she gestured to the red head from her class.

"Yeah, it's fine!" Rhea assured her, "I'll see if Jay wants some company. Enjoy your breakfast and I'll meet you up in our dorm."

"Youre the best, have fun with Jay!" The younger girl exclaimed, with a certain singsong emphasis on the boy's name before rushing of to eat with Miranda (who she did not need to ask about a chemistry test).

Rhea walked over to the boy and stood opposite him, "Can I sit?"

The boy hesitantly looked up at her and nodded, he knew what was going to happen later and it was tearing him apart inside (and he hoped Rhea wouldn't detest him forever when he followed Maleficent's order.

"You're quiet today, I hope that shit Chad, Audrey and that bitch Leah said didn't hurt you too much."

A small smirk crossed his face, "You're calling a queen a bitch?"

"Only Leah and the Queen of Hearts, Leah pressured me and Chad into a relationship. And I don't think the Queen of Hearts needs an explanation, apparently her daughter a bit of a rebel, though. I hope the program can offer her a place at Auradon Prep one day."

"With you in charge, I'm sure it'll be possible." He smiled at her, and he didn't know what was wrong with him. Every time she spoke his stomach felt weird, and every time she smiled his heart fluttered- the first time she gave him a smile- especially for him, not for anyone else- he thought he was dying because of how fast his heart was beating.

"So," he continued, wanting to listen to her talk as much as possible, "where's your evil twin?"

"Talia?" She rhetorically asked, her head slightly tilting (Jay had to fight a smile at the sight as he nodded), "She's sitting with a girl from her class, Miranda. She's Merida's daughter, if you couldn't tell by the fiery red hair. She also has her mother's thick accent..." she trailed off since she had completely lost her train of thought, "Anyways, they have a chemistry test coming up and she wanted to ask her about it."

Jay watched her as she talked, studiously taking in every feature of her face, a face he wasn't sure if he would ever see again, "You have a really pretty smile," he unintentionally blurted out, causing his face to turn a light shade of red.

"Thanks" Rhea giggled and her smile grew as her cheeks flushed pinks, "I'd tell you the same but I'm sure every girl on the isle told you it daily."

Jay turned a brighter shade of pink as he never actually enjoyed the company of all the girl's he flirts with, he just enjoyed the attention. Something, however, was different with Rhea as he actively found himself wanting to be around her, since (unbeknownst to the oblivious boy) he had a crush on her.  "No, actually," he revealed, "they didn't."

"Well that was stupid of them." Rhea bluntly said before an awkward silence enveloped them for what felt like the longest minute of their lives.

She tried to look at him, but not too much that it looked like she was looking at him but not too little that it looked like she was avoiding looking at him. She wondered what the fuck was wrong with her, and then it hit her like a tonne of bricks- she had a crush on Jay.

"Shit," she suddenly muttered under her breath.

"What's wrong?" Jay asked with concern.

"Nothing, I just forgot to grow my hair for the coronation, I can still do it later though," Rhea successfully lied, "so, I hope you aren't too affected by that whole Chad situation yesterday, he was being a real dick to you guys."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just don't want to see him today." He spoke in short sentences, wanting to not speak about the boy, "You'll finally get the official job title." He gave her a weak smile, hating the fact he couldn't tell her about Maleficent's stupid plan, especially since Rhea told him how she wanted to get all villain kids off the isle as soon as possible and how she had waited years to finally be able to do more than speak her opinion, but could use them to influence good..

Jay was honestly begin to doubt how evil he truly was, being in Auradon and around Rhea made him act like a better person, a person Jay wouldn't mind being. But there was no other way, for Jay was a VK and rotten to the core.
