Before they went to party, Rhea dragged Jay (by physically holding his hand and manoeuvring him through the crowd) to see her parents and brother. When the boy asked why, she simply responded he knew Elijah through tourney. Talia also went to talk to her parents, bringing Evie and Carlos with her, and Ben and Mal went to his parents.

When they reached her parents, Rapunzel immediately enveloped them into a tight hug, "I'm so glad you're both safe."

"Thank you for protecting our flower," Eugene told Jay, offering his hand for the boy to shake, which Jay accepted with a slightly terrified look on his face.

"Actually, um, Sir, your daughter saved me." he confessed.

"Only after you protected me first, there's no need to be so modest Jay." Rhea told him.

"You looked so funny trying not to trip," Elijah teased his sister, seeing Jay seemed so uncomfortable, Jay recognised this and shot him a grateful smile.

"Eli!" Rhea exclaimed, looking to her parents for help.

"Be nice, Elijah," Rapunzel half-hearted scolded him, "you sister just had the most stressful day of her life."

Rhea shot her brother a victorious look and the boy rolled his eyes, Jay smiled at the siblings' antics. He was glad he would get to see them more.

Elijah looked at their dad, gesturing to his old satchel he loved so much, to remind him of the gift they brought Rhea, "Oh!" He exclaimed causing his wife, daughter and Jay to look at him oddly (though Jay tried to be a bit more subtle).

He poked around his satchel until his hand reached the box her present was in, he handed her the box and began to recite the beginning of a poem, "'Medium', 14-carat nib/Three gold bands in the clip-on screw-top,"

"You got me a Conway Stewart!" She exclaimed before opening the box, her father nodded and gestured for her to open the box to see it, and there lay a fountain pen, a Conway Stewart series 58, much like the one Heaney owned, but with an engraving 'The Seamus Heaney Pen 27/250'.

She turned to Jay to explain why she was so excited, "It's customary here for parents to gift a pen when you pass exams or achieve something massive. Seamus Heaney is my favourite poet and he has a poem called 'The Conway Stewart'. This is a limited edition pen that's the exact model he was given when he got a scholarship to secondary school."

She turned back to her parents and embraced them in a hug, "Thank you both, I love you so much." Jay smiled at the sight, though internally he was jealous he didn't have the pleasure of a loving family (not yet knowing how close he would become with the Fitzherbert family).

"That's not all," Rapunzel spoke in her ear, "we have a plaque dedicated to you in the castle now." Rhea smiled at hearing the news.

When they split from the hug, she gave her brother a quick side hug and thanked him for everything he had done to help her, including coaxing her through a near mental breakdown the night before.

"Don't worry about it, Loser." He told her, refraining from ruffling her hair since he fully expected that would lead to his death.

"Jay," Rapunzel spoke to the boy, "if you and your friends every need a place to stay over the school holidays or any other time, our castle is open," she then faced her husband, "isn't that right, Dear?"

"Of course," Eugene agreed, "I'll write the address and the number," he pulled out a small note book and a pen from his satchel and wrote all the information down before tearing the page and handing it to the boy.

"Dad, I literally could have told him all of that," Rhea said, rolling her eyes.

"That's a lot you can fit in your satchel," Jay commented, not wanting to be involved in a family's argument, however small it was.
