Arav's mother Priya gently shakes them awake.
Priya: Hey, you two! Time to wake up and come down for dinner.
Arav: (Groggily) Huh? Oh, okay, Mom. We’re coming.
Summer: (Stretching) Dinner sounds good. Let’s go.
They get up and head downstairs to the dining table. Arav's father Vijay and his sister Arohi are already seated.
Arav and Summer: (In unison) Hi, Dad. Hi, Di.
Vijay : (Smiling) Hi, Summer. Good to see you.
[Arohi playfully messes up summers hair as she sits down.]
Summer: (Irritated) Why do you always do that to my hair, Aru Di?
Arohi: (Grinning) Because it’s just so much fun! Plus, it keeps you on your toes.
[Everyone laughs, lightening the mood.]
Priya: (Smiling) Alright, let’s eat before the food gets cold.
[They all begin to eat, enjoying the meal and each other’s company.]
Summer and Arav enter Summer’s house and head to the dining room.
Summer and Arav: (In unison) Hi, everyone!
Rohan: (High-fives Arav) Hey, Arav! What’s up?
Radha: (Smiling) Hi, you two! Have you had dinner yet?
Summer: Yeah, Mom, we ate at Arav's place.
Arav: Thanks for asking, Auntie Radha.
Radha: (Nodding) Alright then, you two go on upstairs.
[Summer and Arav head upstairs. Rohan turns to Radha.]
Rohan: Mom, why do you always ask them if they’ve eaten? If they’re not home after college, it means they’ve had dinner at Arav’s house.
Radha: (Smiling) I know, Rohan. It’s just a habit.
David: (Laughing) It’s nice that they have each other. Let’s finish our dinner.
[Radha and David smile and continue eating their dinner.]
Arav and Summer walked upstairs, heading towards Summer's room. Arav always admire the spaciousness of the room compared to his own. The centerpiece was the elegant piano tucked against the far wall, its polished surface gleaming in the sunlight streaming through the windows. He lifted the cover, revealing the keys, and began to play a gentle melody, filling the room with soothing notes.
Summer leaned against the wall, watching Arav with a fond smile. "I don't know why I keep this thing around," he said lightly, though they both knew the reason. "It's not like I ever play it."
Arav glanced up, his fingers still dancing across the keys. "You keep it because you know I love playing it. And because you like listening.
