21.Arav Confession

After the cake, the dancing starts. Suddenly, the lights shut down, and a spotlight shines on Sriya.]

Sriya: (Through the microphone) I have something important to say.

[Everyone quiets down, curious. Summer and his friends look on, confused.]

Sriya: (Nervously) Summer, you’ve been an amazing friend. I’ve grown to care about you deeply. So, I have to ask... Will you be my boyfriend?

Sriya’s unexpected proposal, everyone waits in anticipation for Summer’s response. Arav stands frozen, and tears start to fall from his eyes. He feels a rush of emotions and finds it hard to process what’s happening.

Arav come out of that crowd (Voice trembling) I-I can’t believe this...

Arav stumbles to a nearby chair and sits down, staring blankly. Prachi notices Arav’s distress and quickly goes over to him.

Prachi: (Gently) Arav, are you okay?

Arav: (Choking up) No, Prachi, I’m not okay. I... I can’t lose Summer.

Prachi sits beside him and pulls him into a comforting hug. Arav’s tears begin to flow freely as he clings to her.

Arav: (crying) I didn’t understand my feelings at first. I kept telling myself it was just friendship. But now I know... I can’t be without him. I love him, Prachi. I love Summer. I love my best friend....I love him... I can't....I can’t let him go....I can't leave without him....

Prachi: (Soothingly) It’s okay, Arav. It’s okay to have these feelings. I know it’s hard right now.....(Started crying)

Arav: (Sobbing) I’m afraid it’s too late. What if he says yes to Sriya? What if I lose him forever?

Prachi: (Rubbing his back) but couldn't say anything

Arav: But what if he’s already made up his mind? What if he’s happy with Sriya?(Again started crying)

Then suddenly Subham and Saurav come out of the party and see Arav crying with Prachi comforting him. They approach with concern.

Subham: (Worried) Arav, what’s wrong?

Saurav: (Looking at Prachi) What happened?

Prachi: (Hesitant) I... I think it’s time you guys know the truth. Arav, I’m sorry, but they need to understand.

Arav: (Through tears) Prachi, no...

Prachi: (Gently) It’s okay, Arav. They’re our friends. They deserve to know.

Subham : (Confused) What’s going on, Prachi?

Prachi: (Taking a deep breath) Arav has been struggling with his feelings for a while now. He’s realized that he feels more than friendship for Summer.

[Subham and Saurav are shocked, looking at each other, unable to find the right words.]

Saurav: (Stunned) Wait, Arav... you’re in love with Summer?

Subham: (Wide-eyed) This is... wow, I didn’t see that coming.

Arav: (Crying harder) I didn’t want things to change. I’m so confused and scared.

Prachi: (Comforting Arav) He didn’t want to say anything because he didn’t want to ruin their friendship. But seeing summer with Sriya has been really hard for him.

Saurav: (Softly) Arav, why didn’t you tell us? We’re your friends.

Subham: (Nodding) Yeah, man. We’re here for you, no matter what.

Arav: (Sniffling) I didn’t know how to deal with it. I didn’t want to lose you guys or make things awkward with Summer.

Subham and saurav (Unison): (Sincerely) Arav, we are so sorry you’ve been going through this alone. We had no idea.

Prachi: (Encouragingly) It’s out in the open now. We can figure this out together.

Saurav: (Putting a hand on Arav’s shoulder) We’re all in this together, okay? We’ll get through it.

Subham: (Supportively) Yeah, we’re not going anywhere.

Arav: (Feeling slightly better) Thanks, guys. I don’t know what I’d do without you.

Prachi: (Determined) We’ll figure it out, Arav. One step at a time.

And they hug each other while arav and prachi crying and smiling at a time
