Summer and Sriya walk into the canteen together, joining Prachi, Saurav, and Shubham at their usual table.
Summer: Hey everyone, this is Sriya. She’s from my department. Sriya, this is Prachi, Saurav, and Shubh(subham).
Sriya: Hi, nice to meet you all!
Prachi, Saurav, and Shubham: (In unison) Hi, nice to meet you too.
[They start chatting, but the conversation feels a bit forced. Summer notices that his friends are not as talkative as they usually are with Arav.]
Sriya: (Trying to break the ice) So, do you guys have any fun plans for the weekend?
Saurav: (Nodding) Yeah, we were thinking of going to the Starlight Club that opened up. Have you heard about it?
Sriya: Oh, that sounds fun! I’d love to join if that’s okay.
Shubham: (Smiling politely) Sure, the more the merrier.
[Summer feels a bit uneasy, sensing the slight awkwardness but decides not to mention it. The group continues to chat, but the usual camaraderie is missing.]
[After the canteen meeting, everyone heads towards their classes. Summer and Sriya walk together while Prachi, Saurav, and Shubham follow behind.]
Summer: (To Sriya) Sorry if my friends seemed a bit quiet. They’re usually more lively.
Sriya: (Smiling) No worries, Summer. It takes time to get comfortable with new people.
[Prachi, walking behind, looks a bit off but doesn’t say anything.she heads towards classroom with Saurav and Shubham.]
Prachi: (Whispering to Saurav and Shubham) Did you guys notice anything different today?
Saurav: (Nodding) Yeah, it felt a bit off. But maybe it’s just because Arav wasn’t there.
Shubham: Could be. Let’s give it some time. I’m sure we’ll all get used to Sriya.
They nod in agreement and go to their respective classes, leaving the unease behind for now.
