A Monster.

Author's POV

A loud slap echoed the corridor following with gasps from servants around. Jeongguk gritted his teeth and shut his eyes tightly, feeling the slight sting across his cheek.

“How dare you?!” Queen Kim shouted, unable to control her composure anymore the moment she got to know about Taehyung. “He is your brother and you accused him of doing such filthy things?!” She held out her other hand and slapped Jeongguk once again who remained on his feet, no words spoken nor he made any effort to say anything.

Unshed tears drenched her eyes as she glared at the shadow behind the blurry views, she hated it.

Hence she held out her hand, ready to give Jeongguk another hit with the anger she was carrying. Yet it never reached the crown's prince as strong fingers gripped her wrist, stopping her instantly. “I hold the view that this matter is now settled, Your Majesty. The court arrived at the verdict that the 4th Prince was held liable based on solid evidence, not speculation.” A low rigid voice greeted them before her wrist was pushed away.

“It would be more fitting for you to correct your son's behavior instead of confronting my husband.”

Jeongguk immediately recognized the owner as he glanced to the side with a fluttering heart. It was not the time to be blushing over mere words, he knew. But how could you expect him not to when Jimin just openly admitted that he was his husband and defended him? That was so sexy for no reason.

“You-!!” Queen Kim pointed towards Jimin, not minding the crown prince anymore as she scowled over the older man. “You're bad luck!! Everywhere you go, you bring tragedy with you and now my son is in a cell!! I should have known!! I should have stopped Taehyung from sitting beside you that night!!” She hissed under her breath.

“Your son's imprisonment is not a consequence of my calamity, but rather the result of the crime he committed.” Jimin spat, not sparing a glance towards Jeongguk who watched the scene unfold. It's not that he didn't want to interrupt, but it seemed like Jimin didn't need any defense from him and the man appeared not to step down soon from their argument.

“He did no such thing!-”

“The evidence contradicts your claim.” Jimin cut in. “Be thankful that my husband implored His Majesty to reconsider the court's sentence, sparing your son's life in the process. Or not he would have been dead.” He concluded coldly and took that cue to intertwine Jeongguk's fingers with his before he dragged the young man with him, leaving Queen Kim who was stunned and lost her words.

She opened her mouth, wanting to stop them but it failed miserably when her eyes landed on her husband and his royal advisor, already making their way towards her. She glared at Dong-Il before glancing back at Jeon-Hyun. “Such actions are not condoned in this environment. Preserve your composure and serenity, Queen Kim.” The King strictly warned.

“Taehyung is our son.” She hissed in a whisper, keeping her voice low.

Jeon-Hyun sighed at the statement as he started to walk away, leaving Tae-Hee to follow her from behind knowing the woman won't end this argument sooner or later.
