It Felt Wrong...
Everything Did.

Author's POV

“Are you feeling better now?” Jeongguk pondered, looking down at Jimin as they were strolling down the palace.

He had suggested going on a walk to get some fresh air and clear out the mood. It was already late obviously and his body was fatigued from everything that had happened but he was also restless to see Jimin so unhappy. It was the same expression when he first hurt the man that night and it really kicked him to the darkest part of himself, reminding how much pain he had inflicted to the older.

“Yes…” Jimin mumbled quietly, looking upwards and seemingly eyeing the moon while drowning in his own thoughts. Jeongguk caught that behavior and smiled softly as an idea crossed his mind. He took Jimin's hand, locking it around with his big ones before dragging the man in a hurry. It earned his husband's attention.

“W-where are we going?” Jimin asked while suppressing his grin. Jeongguk didn't do anything nor spoke a word but it made his heart leap deep inside. And he hated it… Smiling like an idiot at every touch, laughing pathetically at every word, blushing terribly at every flirtation, and loving deeply at everything.

He hated it as much as he loved it.

“Shh!!” Jeongguk hushed him, putting out his index finger in front of mouth cutely. “I have a secret place to show you, now hurry up!!” He whispered in a yelling tone, making Jimin chuckled as he let his hand be dragged by his husband to nowhere, unconsciously trusting the man.

Silence erupted around them as she entered his room with fresh brewed peppermint tea in her hands. She walked quietly, ignoring the man who was sitting by the bed and watched her prepare the small table.

“Talk to me, Ji Yeon-ah… Are you still mad at me?” Jeon Hyun pleaded gently, staring at the woman he loved.

Despite the polite request, her crescent eyes remained on the floor as she walked near to the bed and placed a wooden tray on the mattress beside him. She then held out his hand, making her way to pour out the tea but stopped when the King grabbed her by the wrist, prompting her to look at him.

“Don't ignore me…” He mumbled, nearly begging.

“Your Majesty, the tea is now served for your enjoyment…” She spoke softly and snatched her hand away harshly on the contrary. A sigh left his mouth as she strolled over and took her seat on the floor, still intending to ignore Jeon Hyun.

Or… the man she once loved.

“It's been years… Ji Yeon-ah. Are you going to ignore me, forever…?”

“You think you can return everything you took from me?” She finally spoke, tilting her head upwards and stared at Jeon Hyun with silent hatred. No she wasn't glaring, nor was she scowling. But every inch of what you see on her beautiful face screamed resentment towards the man on the throne.
