A Bad Luck

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Author's POV

They say when you fall in love with someone, the whole world seems to fade, you would feel happy with them and all you wanted was to be with them, around them, whenever and wherever they are. They say you would feel your heart beat thump against your chest, begging you to confess while butterflies roam around your body.

Yet sometimes, it's not the butterflies that tell you're in love. But the pain…

And Jeon Jeongguk… was in pain.

The image of Jimin earlier didn't leave his mind, and it haunted him. He felt like someone stabbed him in the chest with a knife over and over again, it hurts. But there was no wound nor blood shown, and it was frustrating him to the core. He hated that he couldn't stop thinking about Jimin.  They had been married for over two weeks, and not once did they have a proper talk. Yet again, the older one never seemed to leave him alone; occupying his mind and surrounding his presence.

A simply torture.

He took a deep breath, glancing over at the man in front of him, also known as Sung Hyun-Joo, Dong-Il's son. Since his father worked in the palace, Jeongguk and he had been close friends and would always practice together when they were children. Even when people around them questioned their different status, both Jeongguk and Hyun-Joo didn't mind. They tell everything to each other, and if one of them has problems, they will reach out. Though, things have changed now. The older man worked as a royal guard, and they rarely met. But whenever Jeongguk needed him, he would be there.

They were practicing martial arts for over an hour now and decided to take a break before continuing. And, of course, this was all Jeongguk's idea.

“I implore Your Highness to reveal to me the matter troubling you…” Hyun-Joo started, and Jeongguk scoffed mentally. There was a hidden sarcasm behind those proper words. “Drop the formality, hyung.” He spoke, and the older man grinned before offering a bottle of water to the crown prince. Jeongguk wasted no time than taking it, gulping down the water and feeling his exhausted body now back to life.

“Tell me what's wrong.” Hyun-Joo insisted, and Jeongguk took a deep breath while thinking hard. He didn't know where to start and how to begin. All of the things happening to him right now, it was odd and too unfamiliar. “What do you mean?” He trailed off, unsure what to say. He looked away and stared up to the sky while feeling the wind brush against his skin. It was a peaceful atmosphere, yet he felt chaos inside.

“Quit lying, I know there's something going on in your big brain. You kept missing my attacks earlier. You were sloppy and heavily disturbed too…” Hyun-Joo pointed  out and Jeongguk sighed before looking away at the sky and glanced down towards his fingers. He eyed the shiny lock, a proof to the world that he belonged to Jimin while the other belonged to him. But it didn't feel that way… he felt like he was the only one maintaining the title.

“I don't know, hyung.”

“I think you do.” Jeongguk looked at Hyun-Joo, thinking back at the words he spat. Well, of course he knew what was occupying his mind but he was too stubborn to accept it. But then again, he didn't know what he was feeling. It was odd and unfamiliar, something he never felt before.
