21: Surprise! Right?

Madison walked downstairs and Hughie, Frenchie and Kimiko all looked at her wanting some answers.

Madison stood there as it looked like the one who was going to explain everything was Butcher...

"well, the plan still stands as is. Let's get going.." Butcher then changed the subject as he didn't care to explain anything, lastly giving Madison a distraught look.

Madison looked at Butcher feeling some sort of way, M.M started gathering some materials.

Madison felt upset because she hasn't given the reason why and knew that Butcher let her do it herself.

Frenchie was the first one to walk up to Madison and he stood in front of her, "welcome back, mon amour. we missed you"

Frenchie didn't really care to know what the reason back, he was just happy to see her again.

Madison smiled at him and he walked off to get some weapons ready.

Madison walked up to Hughie as his face was straight, she began talking to him, "i'm—back in the Seven. i just wanted to say that and get it out of the way.."

Hughie took a deep breath and didn't mind it as long as she gave him updates about his girlfriend, Annie January, Starlight.

Hughie then with a smile asked her, "how's annie? is she doing alright?"

Madison pulled him more to the side so they could talk but had to whisper as well, "...she's doing alright but you have to text her back. be bold, Hughie. Annie wants you too. Be the one to text her, she's been waiting."

Hughie looked at her while she gave him a promising look.

Hughie realized that and had taken a note of it.

"We have to start recruiting another superhero, A-train is out." Ashley affirmed and told Homelander the news.

Homelander got angry and had an angry/confused face on, "what the hell you talking about?"

"Haven't you heard? Butcher and his crew beat him up, A-train was trying to get them but it was too much for him." Ashley responded confused also as to why they were stronger than him.

Homelander was pissed now and replied in an angry tone, "why didn't he fucking call me, then? is he on compound V, again?"

Ashley looked confused at him and shrugged, "i don't know sir, but you're going to like it less when i tell you that Stan Edgar has chosen a hero to join—well the Seven."

Homelander was even more pissed when he realized that he couldn't get to choose the supe.

Homelander rushed to Stan Edgar's office and looked at him with anger, "why did you choose the supe who joins us and it didn't get approved by me."

Stan Edgar clearly didn't care and gave him a straight voice with a straight voice, "it doesn't have to be run by you, your opinion doesn't matter when it comes to these things."

Homelander looked at him pissed and his eyes were turning red like how it does when his lasers come out of his eyes.

Stan noticed and he replied, "I need you to stop playing games and focus on the bigger picture. Vought is one step away from falling apart and you're doing nothing but running around just as your fellow supes..."

Homelander stopped flashing his red eyes and it went silent, the room.

"Do you know what Starlight is up to? The Deep? Privilege?" Stand Edgar kept asking him as to make note that he isn't a good leader and isn't leading such a great team if he doesn't even know where they are.

Homelander has an angry face but in the very back of his mind, he knew Stan was right.

Homelander snapped back at Edgar one last time, "Vought going under is your problem, why don't you guys deal with it instead of asking me to cover your asses"

Stand Edgar looked at him and scuffed, "without Vought, you are nothing but a person in a cape."

Those words stuck with Homelander, as someone who loves getting praised.

That sentence stuck with Homelander and he walked off.

Stan Edgar is probably one of many who isn't afraid of Homelander and his super powers.

Many are to scared to take a stance against Homelander.

Homelander kills those who respect him more than those who don't and take a hard stance against him because he appreciates those who are brave enough.

"where we going?" Madison asked and they all walked upstairs, Madison walked right behind Kimiko.

"that is the question, ain't it?" Butcher chuckled without telling her a word, Madison rolled her eyes because he clearly didn't answer her question.

Kimiko pulled out her phone while she and Madison trailed slightly behind the rest.

'we found out, that there is a super powered terrorist with telekinetic abilities on the loose. We are meeting, C.I.A Dept. Director Raynor at this place and plan on informing her so she could help us track him down," Kimiko typed on her phone and showed it to Madison, Madison read it and understood much better.

"thank you, Kimiko. What a bum, right? Does he also give you a hard time too?" Madison slightly whispered talking about Butcher to Kimiko, as one by one the Boys started getting in the Van.

Kimiko nodded and smiled at Madison slightly, Madison felt bad for her because she felt the struggle of being accepted by a guy who is out for revenge.

Kimiko typed on her phone and then showed to Madison, "how are you and Frenchie? Is there something there?"

Madison smiled and looked away, she replied very softly, "i mean—well i don't know...i just don't feel like it's good to be with him. i don't even know him that much, i'd like to know more of him before we start actually talking..." Madison thought about her and Frenchie dating and what would happen if they did...

Madison then stopped thinking of that and looked at Kimiko with a sincere face and tone, "what are you two? dating?"

Kimiko's eyes widened as she said that and shook her head from side to side so fast, typing quickly on her phone then showing Madison, "no, no. We are just best friends. He's helped me and i've helped him. He does have quite a dark past but i would rather him tell you than me."

Madison realized and wondered, how dark of a past.

They got in the van lastly and there was some tension in the Van.

Madison caught glimpses of Frenchie as she zoned out wondering and very curiously.
