Y/N'S POV

Was it really that easy after all?

"This is the last time she's coming with us, Rin," I overheard Ran mutter as I checked my reflection in my phone's screen, making sure everything was in place.

I shot him a side-eye while adjusting my hair. We were heading to the club, my location already shared with Yuzuha for safety.

Ran was driving, Rindou in the front seat, and I was relegated to the back. I understood Ran's wariness—he's always been cautious, almost to a fault.

"She's harmless, so just let her be," Rindou replied, trying to defuse the tension.

Ran fell silent after that, and the rest of the drive was unnervingly quiet. Even the music couldn't fill the void of the palpable unease.

By the way, Chat, I'm dressed to kill tonight in one of my favorite party dresses. This dress cost a small fortune, so I save it for special occasions.

The dress I'm wearing tonight is a form-fitting satin piece in a light champagne color. It has a ruched design on one side, adding texture and a flattering silhouette. The back features a crisscross lace-up detail, adding a sophisticated and alluring touch. The thin straps and open back enhance the dress's elegant yet slightly provocative look.

I knew I looked stunning when I saw the annoyed expression on Ran's face as he saw me in it.

We soon arrived at our destination, an underground club. Three burly men were stationed outside, guarding the entrance.

Ran and Rindou quickly exited the car and made their way to the entrance without a second thought for me, struggling in my heels behind them.

"Excuse me, ma'am. You'll need to leave your phone and other belongings here. No phones allowed inside," one of the bouncers stopped me, his hand outstretched.

They even asked for my ID, which I handed over without protest, though it was clear they hadn't noticed I was with Ran.

I placed my purse on the counter outside the door, noting a few other phones in a small basket. It didn't bother me since Yuzuha had my location. I turned off my phone and left it.

"Please step forward for a body search, ma'am," the bouncer directed me to a spot.

"Oh, yeah, sure—"

"What are you doing?" Ran's voice cut through the air. I thought they were already inside. They had left me here!

"I'm conducting a body search, Sir. It's required for everyone—"

"You don't need to touch her, she's with me," Ran interrupted, grabbing my wrist and pulling me to his side.

"He's just doing his job, Ran. He would've known I was with you if you hadn't left me here alone," I said, irritated by his tone and how roughly he handled me, nearly causing me to trip in my heels.

Ignoring my protest, Ran tightened his grip on my wrist and led me into the club before finally letting go.

"Stay close to me, mommy."

Ran navigated through the throng of people, with me following closely, scanning the crowded room. The club was packed, the air thick with the scent of alcohol and the thumping bass of the DJ's music.

It seemed like a typical club, a façade for their clandestine activities.

Ran continued straight ahead, and I trailed him until we reached another door, which I guessed led to their private meeting room.
