Ren flinches as he feels a tug on his tail. He sleepily looked over to glare at whatever was pulling on his tail, only to realize that it was just Cub. He was just a little Vex kid who didn't know any better. Ren had adopted the small Vex two years back when the kid was just four years old. Cub hadn't been keen on being adopted at first, but he eventually gave in and slowly started to trust Ren, who had done his best to gain that trust.

Ren sighed, "Hey, Kiddo. What time is it?" Cub didn't speak much, so he just pointed over to the clock on the nightstand. The wolf hybrid's eyes widened, and he inwardly cursed. They were going to be late! Ren quickly got up, grabbed some clothes, told Cub to wait outside the bedroom door, and got changed. Once finished, he promptly fixed himself up, hiding his tail and ears as humans weren't exactly nice to people like him or Cub. After making it look like his ears were just a part of his hair, he left the room to help Cub hide his wings, tail, and horns.

Thankfully, Cub was already waiting in the bathroom for Ren. "Ok, do you remember what I told you?" Cub paused for a split second before slowly nodding his head. Ren slightly gestured for the small Vex to show him. Cub folded his wings up under his shirt, making sure to keep them as close to his back as he possibly could. He had already hidden his tail under his clothes, the same way Ren hid his tail. But he seemed to fumble with his horns.

These horns were only a few inches tall, which definitely helped with how Ren showed Cub how to hide them. "Do you need some help?" The Vex slowly nodded his head. "Ok, come here, kiddo." After a lot of hair styling, Ren managed to completely hide them in the pitch-black hair. "All done. Are you hungry? Anything else you need before we go?" Cub squinted as he thought. "My bookbag." Ren nodded, leading Cub out of the bathroom to the front entrance, where the kid's bag sat next to the door. "Alright, that's everything?" Cub nodded his head as he grabbed the bag, which both he and Ren had checked to make sure everything was in there. "Then let's get going before we're late!"

-Small Time Skip-

"Alright... So, after I get you to school, I need to get going to my new job at that one bakery a few blocks away from our house. Then at six I'll come and get you and..." Ren glanced into the backseat, where Cub was sitting. "What do you want for dinner, Kid?" Cub slightly shrugged, "Something with meat, I guess..." Ren quietly nodded, continuing the plans for the day in his head. As they got closer to the school, Ren's mind started to race even more. He couldn't shake an odd feeling that was slowly clawing up his stomach. Ren let out a muffled sigh, putting all of his focus on the road instead of this odd feeling.
