1. Cover - 3/5: The cover is quite appropriate and arousing the feeling of suspicion as it is needed for such a story. I think it sums up the story quite adequately but it lacks a bit of professionalism that I advise should be given to it to make it look unique.

 2. Title - 4/5: Yes, the title 'The Wishing Well' is a very good one; it raises the question in the reader's mind and it suggests what the story is going to be about. It's basic but sufficiently efficient; perhaps, it may be even more unique to fit better in the overcrowded category.

 3. Blurb - 3/5: The blurb successfully gives a brief idea about the plot and its setting, making it appear to be a spin-off of a dangerous children's game. However, it could be tightened up for quite a few places and gain much more vividness and focus on Lane's past and those menacing rules of the game.

 4. Characters - 7/10: In the case of Lane Bourow, a believable protagonist with a painful backstory is presented from the start. Dr. Will is rather mysterious, as one would expect from the breathless Dr. Moreau, though his motives could be further developed. The additional characters including Easton, Floyd, Evie, and Mason, enrich the novel's plot and provide a fresh approach; however, some of their scenes and dialogues are rather stereotyped.

5. Plot - 8/10: This work proves to be very exciting in terms of the plot: the elements of horror, mystery and suspense are brilliantly interwoven. It is original to make a child's game a deadly game and the idea has been implemented pretty well in the movie. The pacing is fairly competent, however there are a few scenes that seem to be overdone and could have been trimmed down for better tension. The rules of the wishing well game are an additional fun dimension that is introduced into the interaction between the characters.

6. Grammar & Vocabulary - 4/5: It can be said that grammar and language of the writing is mostly accurate and quite comprehensible. However, there are a few slips and evils of expression with which any professional reader would like to improve.

 7. Enjoyment - 4/5: The plot itself is entertaining, making reader to be engaged, all throughout the story, due to the element of mystery. All in all, one can state that the prologue is helpful to create perceiving of the stakes while the chapters that follow help to develop tension. adds realism to the plot by displaying proper dynamic of a group of friends in the course of the film.

 Overall Review: 33/45**

There are reasons to call of "The Wishing Well" a rather promising piece of fiction, as the author does a good job at combining horror and mystery. Considering the background of Lane Bourow experiencing a traumatic childhood and then the continuation of the story interacting with other evil forces can also be appreciated for its rather interesting plot. The prologue establishes a firm beginning presenting a backstory where Lane's wife is institutionalized and Will is a mysterious doctor. The shift to life at 'home' and the unearthing of the deadly wishing well game is however done in an acceptable way and the suspense is built steadily.

The characters are very credible, everyone contributes to the plot with a special flair. Lane's conversations with Easton, Evie, Mason, and Floyd are nice, although some dialogues contain phrases that are overused. The way that Easton swore to show that the legend was wrong and the fact that Mason was reluctant also strengthened the personality of the characters and therefore it was interesting to know how this group of friends will come together.

The twins' history of a vengeful game in which children are killed is a rather effective and creative idea. These rules concerned complicate the game and make it dangerous which captures the reader's attention. However, some scenes especially those which show the forest could be Regards have the affect of slowing down the action and tension.

The following is the analysis of the language: Writing is decent, adequate use of grammar and choice of correct words. Few mistakes and some syntactical oddities are found, but these do not impede the reader's appreciation of the text. There is still room for improvement for the reader and the writer and with a little more polishing the setting becomes even more vivid.

On the whole, "The Wishing Well can be considered as a worthy piece of horror/mystery fiction that features worthwhile characters and maintains the readers' interest. There is the potential for it to be even better if some improvements with regards to the characters' relations and rhythm of the story were made. This, for sure, will be of interest to every fan of scar stories and films of the same genre.
