Not so bad after all (Edgar x Chester)

Part 14

Edgar's pov:

Saturday morning I woke up at around 10am, and as much as I tried to, I couldn't fall back asleep so I had to get up. I waddled down to the kitchen, rubbing my eyes as my mother greeted me.
-Morning Eddie! How did you sleep? -she said in her usual cheerful voice.
-Meh. -I said groggily as I poured a bowl of cereal for myself, then plopped down onto a chair.
-I see you woke up extra enthusiastic l today. -mom joked with sarcasm in her voice.
-Ha ha. As if you hadn't seen me grumpy before. -I rolled my eyes.

I continued eating my cereal and after I was done, I put my plate in the sink.
-Hey, mom?
-Yes sweetie?
-Im gonna head out at like 3pm. Chester is taking me somewhere as a surprise, so I don't know when I'll be back.
-Oooo a surprise? I hope you will have fun then, just don't stay out mega late. -she smiled.
-I'll try to.

After that I went up to my room and grabbed my phone off of the charger. I had some messages from Chester, so I went to check them.

I closed our chat and opened tiktok to pass time. After like an hour, I decided that I should probably dress up, since I was still in my pjs. I walked over to my closet and swung it open to check out my options. I needed something casual but not the usual homeless look cause I have no idea where Chester is taking me. What if it's like a fancy restaurant? Wait why would he even take me to a restaurant it's not like this is a date?! Fucking hell I seriously have a problem. Tho I do wonder where he is taking me..

I put on a black shirt with a melting face on it and put on a vest on top for style. I put on some shorts and I also decided on some fingerless gloves and big chunky bracelets, just so I'd have something on to cover my fruit ninja warrior wrists. They're such a pain to cover up all the time, but I just don't want to be judged for what I did to myself while grieving at the age of 13-14... Seriously, they just don't heal properly, and it annoys me because these scars carry memories.. bad memories that I don't want to remember them every time I look at these.
