After i told my team about the conversation i had with Mbulelo, they all agreed that I needed to take a small vacation, even if it’s for a weekend just to unwind in a different environment. I could have gone anywhere, but I decided to book myself at Radisson Blu in Umhlanga. The one that is situated literally inside Oceans Mall. One of the reasons why i booked there is because it’s literally takes you three minutes to get to Umhlanga Beach and i needed peace away from the city. Which is why I didn’t book in South Beach.

My friends, especially Nqobile, encouraged me to go all out. I wanted to book just a standard room but she forced me to book the Executive suite which has the sea view and lounge access. That girl is dramatic. She even wanted me to rent a sports car just so I can ‘fit in’. She is extra and I wonder how the doctor keeps up with her. She lives in her own world. The car comment got to me a bit. I have been driving my baby around for a while now and I would love an upgrade. I have never had an accident or damage. I wonder if SMG would allow me to trade it in for a sleeker version. But that’s for next year.

I get to Radisson Blu and check in. I am escorted to my suite and the moment i get there, I make a silent prayer to Nqobile, thanking her for forcing me to book this room. It is beautiful and out of this world. Everything is exquisite and it looks like a very important person is going to be staying here. My God. I am that important person. I am not even going to complain about the money I spent securing it. The room actually has an in-room Espresso machine, a mini bar and I have access to my own safe. But I don’t have any expensive items to put in there, except for my gun. It’s cool though.

After settling in, I freshen up and put on a burgundy criss cross tie back plunging neck short bodycon dress and some white thick heeled sandals. It’s my first time wearing heels after my incident. I still have a bit of trauma but one has to face their fears sooner or later in life. I accessorize with a necklace, bracelet and earrings and then head out with a small white bag. I am going to have dinner at Signature Restaurant. People on social media are always complaining about how expensive meals and beverages are here.

I walk in and a hostess leads me to my table since I made a reservation. I am here for a full three course meal. And I will be dining in as a normal person and not a chef and a food critique. I order phyllo parcels as a starter, bell pepper fillet for main course and Signature soufflé for desert. Their menu makes me realize just how cheap my restaurant is. Healthy Eats is basically like ShopRite and Signature Restaurant is Woolies. I just hope their prices match the taste.

Solo dates are very important. It gives you time to actually dress up and be pretty for you, nobody else. You get to sit alone and actually understand how other people love their lives without even going closer to them. You can tell a lot from a person’s body language. I eat my starter and follow quickly with the main course. The meals are definitely worth the price. The chef/s know their stuff. While waiting for the desert, I sip on my wine slowly. Looking around, I see a gentleman making his way to my table. He smiles at me before taking the sit opposite me.

“Before I say anything, I would love to compliment you. You look so beautiful, Nkosazane. Yazi your beauty attracted me to you. I was sitting there with my friends wondering why a beautiful lady like you is sitting alone.” Such a mouthful. But I smile because he is not that bad to look at.
“Thank you. And it’s called solo date. Very popular these days.” I respond and he chuckles.

“I am Simtholile Mbatha by the way. And what is the beautiful lady’s name?” looks like a smooth talker. I am not closed off relationship wise, but I know better than to start something with a Durbanite. All Durban men are married. The only thing left for most is going to Home Affairs to make things official.
“Hlengiwe Mabuyakhulu.”
“I am delighted to make your acquaintance.” A waitress brings my desert and I smile at him. It’s never nice to eat alone when sitting with someone. “Don’t feel bad. Go ahead and eat your desert.” Not that I was looking for his permission. I take a bite of my soufflé and immediately moan. This is heaven. I don’t have a sweet tooth but I do appreciate nice deserts. “So what is your plan after dinner?”

“Go back to my room and watch some Netflix.”
He chuckles. “On a Friday night? Come on, beautiful. Let’s go dance at Black and after that, we will see where the night takes us.” Going dancing is not a bad idea but I should have picked better shoes. I guess I will sit down and wave hands in the air like white people I clubs. But i know that I am not going to a second location.

“Okay then. You have convinced me.” He chuckles. I finish my desert and the signal for the waiter. She collects my plate and empty glass.
“Is there anything else you are going to need, Miss Mabuyakhulu?” she asks with a smile. She is very cute but I have noticed that most of the waiters are pretty here. I guess the face card is very important.
“No. The food was very nice, Ayanda. Compliments to the chef. Can I please have the bill?”
“We are glad you enjoyed the food. I will be back with your bill shortly.” She walks away and Mr. Mbatha looks at me.

“So where do you stay?” he asks.
“KwaMashu. How about you?” you never give a stranger your details. The name is not bad, but your place of residence? No. The moment Durbanites find out that you’re not from Durban, instantly they think you are a fool or idiot.
“That’s nice. I stay in Glenwood. So how are you getting home?”

“By Uber.” Ayanda comes back with my bill and the tip is already included. They are very clever in these restaurants. I think the bill is almost R2000 and that already includes the tip. I pay for the bill and thank her with an extra R100 cash tip before getting up. Simtholile also stands up. “Shall we go dancing then?” He undresses me with his eyes In a subtle way but I just chuckle inwardly. Guys are so predictable. He signals his friends and they get up from their table to join us before we all head out. At least they are with two ladies but i am not one to socialize with people I don’t know. Okay, who am I kidding? I socialized with Nella without even knowing her. I guess I have my own crowd then.

We enter Black and the place is packed. I don’t know how Simtholile and his friends manage to secure a table but they do, and we sit down. He asks what I drink and I just opt for Bernini classic cider. I am not someone who goes hard on liquor. But when I do drink, I am not that picky of fancy just because I can afford expensive alcohol. The two ladies however, ask for Ice Tropez. I am not judging. Never me. The guys come back with alcohol and we start drinking.

The vibe is really there. I hear people scream and when I look up, I see thee DBN Gogo heading to the deck. This lady is very dope and so underrated. One of the dopiest DJs in South Africa. And I love her so much. I observe her set and even go closer to the booth, recording her. Simtholile is behind me, dancing so close. He is invading my personal space right now but i will let him be for now. DBN Gogo finishes playing and I head back to my place.

“You are so pretty.” Simtholile compliments, hugging me from behind. His hot breath fanning against my neck is not so bad. It make me realize that I have never had an actual quickie in a club restroom and I wanna explore, just for tonight. I turn to place my hands on his shoulders and dance with him. He takes than as an invitation to lower his head and claim my lips. The kiss ignites something in me. I stop it and smile at him. “Wanna go somewhere a little private?” he asks and I nod with a smile. He pulls me to the VIP restroom and pushes me inside before locking the stall. He is one me the next moment, kissing and grabbing me everywhere.

He grabs my thighs and lifts me before sitting down on the closed toilet seat. He kisses me while his hands work his way into my panties. He shifts my thong to the side and starts rubbing quickly on my clit. I gasp and bite his lower lip. He grinds before unzipping his pants and shoving them halfway down his thighs. I see him put on a condom on his hard cock. I don’t dwell much on the size but I welcome him as he slides into me. I am tipsy and it’s been a long time since I last got laid, so with the grabs and kisses, it doesn’t take long for me to reach my climax. He finishes quickly after me and breathes heavily. When he has calmed down, he kisses me and looks at me.

“That was amazing.” He states and I smile before getting up from him. I take a tissue and wipe myself before handing it to him. He will discard it.
“I will go first so that we don’t raise suspicions.” He smiles and nods. I perk his lips and head out.

I first check my reflection on the mirror and make sure I am okay before heading out. I get to the table and luckily his friends are not there, only one of the girls and she doesn’t even notice me because she is busy with her phone. I take my bag and quickly make my exit. When I am outside, I rush to the hotel and i only take a deep breath when I am inside the hotel elevator. That was exhilarating and hot. Doing something that spontaneous was nice and so unlike me. The sex was not bad but definitely not worth a second attempt. But getting a release was worth it shame.
