I have decided to stop overthinking everything and just trust on the love that Melisizwe claims to have for me. It is Friday and I am going to be driving to Durban. I am someone who can afford herself. I am financially stable but Melisizwe doesn't care about any of that. Firstly, he wanted to come and fetch me in his car and I refused. It didn't make sense that he would drive to Esikhawini to fetch me and then drive me back to Esikhawini on Sunday evening or Monday morning. He was not happy with my objection but he had no choice on the matter because his option was unrealistic. After that minor agreement, he sent me money to fill up the fuel tank and buy a few things I might need on the road. I think giving money or gifts is his ultimate love language. I have no problem with him giving me money, but I don't want it to be something he will do all the time.

I told Mndeni about my mini getaway and he was happy for me. He said he wants to see the man that makes me blush like a love sick puppy soon so that his fist can greet him before they get along. Well, I don't think he will approve when he discovers how old Melisizwe is and our history. He said he will find something to do to keep him busy. He is slowly getting comfortable with his surroundings and I love that for him. He is not a child that needs to be babies every step of the way. He is a man and he deserves some freedom. But moving out is not an option.

Melisizwe said I should tell him the moment I depart so that he could be ready for me but that was tad dramatic for me. So starting my journey, I fill up my tank at Total Energies in Esikhawini Mall and then drive off. I don't do much during my drive. I just connect with a few friends and deliver informal invites to the grand opening of the farm. I get to Gateway Shopping Centre two hours later and only then do I tell Melisizwe that I am nearby and he should send me his location. I don't remember the way to his house.

I start by buying a milkshake before heading to Checkers to do some grocery shopping. Nothing just extreme, just a few things I will need if I have to cook. I also buy a Red Velvet Cake. It's not my favourite but it is really nice and Checkers has one of the best store bakeries. I pack everything in my car and put the address in my navigator. I frown when I see that it is literally taking me to the opposite direction of Durban North. When I join the KwaMashu Highway, I finally decide to swallow my pride and call this man. It rings for a few moments before he answers.

"Sthandwa sam." His voice makes me shiver a bit. This man lives to charm me without even trying.
"Mnguni, where are you taking me?"
He laughs. "I was waiting for this moment. I guess you lied about your location, didn't you?" He asks and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever. Why aren't I going to Durban North?" I ask.
"Because you are coming to Newlands, babe. My family has a tendency of showing up unannounced at my other house and I don't want any distractions with you this weekend. So we are going to spend time in my township house."

"Won't my car get stolen? What if I get hijacked?" He laughs again. Have I unknowingly turned into Wanda Skyes overnight?
"Babe, Newlands West is one of the safest townships in Durban and you car won't get stolen. Now how far are you?"

I take the off ramp to KwaMashu and the navigator indicates that I have 7 minutes until I reach my destination. "I am 7 minutes away from your dangerous place."
He chuckles. "Okay, love. I am coming from Bluff and I will be there in 15 minutes. So please wait for me. If I had known you were close, I would have wrapped up this commitment early."

I sigh. "It's fine. I will wait for you. It's not like I can go back or anything."
He snorts. "Okay, Sthandwa sam. I can't wait to hug you and kiss you. See you soon." He hangs up and I continue driving.

I come across a mall called Midway Crossing and I drive inside. I am not about to wait for a man outside his house like I am lost or something. I park the car and walk to Steers since it is closer to the entrance. I order a simple Phanda meal and wait for the order. The moment I collect it, a call from Melisizwe comes in. I roll my eyes and smile. He has probably arrived in his house.

"Mnguni."
"Did you get lost, Sthandwa sam?" he asks and I laugh as I head back to the car.
"I took a detour but I should be there before you know it. Talk soon." I hang up and then drive away from the mall.

Two minutes later, I arrive at my destination. The gate is left open and I drive inside. Hopefully I am not trespassing. But my worries dissipate when I see his car parked outside. The house is a nice one storey with a paved driveway and green grass that looks like it is maintained on a daily basis. I park my car next to his and climb off. A few moments later, he comes out from the front door and rushes to me. He pulls me in a bone crushing hug and kisses my forehead. He then breaks the hug and kisses me.

"I missed you so much." He murmurs, his arms still around me. I giggle.
"You last saw me on Wednesday. You are being dramatic." I reply.
He smirks. "If you felt for me the way I do for you, you would want to be with me everyday."
I laugh. "Chill, old man. Too much speed kills."
He spanks my ass and I squeal. "Who is an old man, Ntokazi?" My God. That was so unlike him, but that's so hot.

"Not you." I mumble and he chuckles.
"You want to get your bag from your car?" He asks, already heading to the boot. I open it using my remote. "You brought groceries for your house?" He asks. I walk to him.
"No, Meli. I want to cook for you." He looks at me and smiles.
"You see how lucky I am." I laugh. We take the bags and head inside. "Home sweet home."

His house is beautiful and subtle. No extreme decor. Just your normal family home. He tells me which way is the bedroom and I go place my bag there before throwing myself in the bed. Driving is tiring. I don't know how taxi drivers do it. I close my eyes and a few moments later, I feel someone creep next to me and I turn, opening my eyes. The man is sleeping next to me with a smile on his face.

"You're so beautiful. You don't even have to dress up or put on make-up. You are perfect." He brushes my face with his hand and kisses me. "Come here." I snuggle closer to him and he wraps his arms around me.
