Last night was the most amazing night of my life. Melisizwe took me out for dinner and went on a boat. Yes. A boat. I know boat cruises in Waterfront are only done during the day. But the guy booked a whole boat for a dinner and it was spectacular. It was very romantic, very well thought out and just magical. There was even a photography team who captured the whole thing. Melisizwe said they were going to send the pictures the next day.

Of course, when we came back from the ride, we went to his place and I rode him just to show some love and appreciation. For some peace and quiet, I made sure to put my phone on silent the whole time because Nqobile was demanding content from the moment I left my house. She is too much. I know.

I thought I would be woken up by kisses this morning, but that’s not the case. I am, once again, woken up by notification sounds. I frown. Am I trending again? I am still laying in Meli’s arms. I slowly turn and reach for my phone. Indeed, there are hundreds of notifications from my phone. I start on TikTok, because that’s the app I open every morning. I see that I am tagged on a post. Okay. I quickly go there and my eyes almost pop out when I see that it’s a photo from last night in the boat. Melisizwe was helping me up and we were looking into each other’s eyes. It is evident from the photo how much love that we have for each other. But that’s not what shocks me the most. I am shocked by the person who posted it. @melisizwe_mzimela.

Hebana. Since when does this man has a social media account? The photo is captioned ‘MINE’. I quickly go to his wall just to see if it is not a catfish. He already has a thousand followers and two posts on his wall. One is a video of me twirling and him laughing at my craziness, although he called it adorable last night. I open the comments on the video and people are saying positive things only. There is one comment that says ‘after seeing this, I don’t blame her for falling for that man. You can literally see hearts pouring from his eyes.’ What I will not do is focus any negativity. My man just claimed me on social media, a platform which he considers toxic, and I couldn’t be happier. God, I love him. I turn and shower him with kisses all over his face and he laughs.

“Kodwa yini Hlengiwe?” he asks without opening his eyes and I pout. I start poking his face and he chuckles. “What was I thinking dating a 2k? yoh.” I gasp and he laughs even more.
“U happy neh?” I ask and he opens his eyes, still laughing.

“God, you look so adorable, my love. But can we please go back to sleep? I am on leave. I deserve to sleep in.” he says in his morning voice and I resist the urge to blush. I am madly and utterly in love with this man and there is no hiding it.
“You created an account and posted me on your TikTok.” I say in a small voice and he smiles.

“You are my baby and I am not ashamed of you. I wish I can stand on the highest mountain and shout for everyone to know. I love you, Hlengiwe Mabuyakhulu and I can’t wait to make you mine permanently. You complete me and I just want to wake up next to you every day for the rest of my…” I place my hand on his mouth to shut him up.

“Don’t finish your vows.” I pout again and he laughs, biting my palm. I let out a small scream and he just pulls me even closer to him. “Lying here next to you makes me not wanna wake up and bless you with breakfast in bed.” I remove my hand and kiss him.

“Then don’t.” he whispers and kisses me. “Leave your phone and give me some proper love since I am leaving tomorrow.” Him announcing his departure is bittersweet but I know he has his own business to take care of and I can always go see him when I want to. Look at me already planning our next time together. Shame, your girl is hooked.

..

I decided to have dinner with Melisizwe and my friends before he leaves. Nqobile said she invited Phelo but I don’t know if he is going to be comfortable dining with us. Mitchy also invited my brother. Pamela and Lineo don’t have straight partners currently, so they didn’t bring anyone. We are having dinner at Indoniyamanzi Bar and Grill in KwaDlangezwa. It is near the river and it is very beautiful from the outside. My man takes a couple of pictures of me outside while we are waiting for everyone.

“I almost asked why you never became a model with that body of yours but then I remembered I would have never met you. So, u right uwu chef wam.” He says while looking at a picture he took and I laugh.
“Even if I was Miss South Africa, I would have met you. You are my soulmate, Mnguni. Whether you like it or not.” I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him.
“I am glad you know that.” He smiles.

We head inside to wait for everyone because it is a bit chilly outside. I order coffee while my man orders whiskey. I don’t know the appeal with whiskey and I tease him for that. He just laughs and rolls his eyes. He doesn’t even care that he is trending on the socials. His phone is placed on the table alongside his keys and he is watching me. Me. A few minutes later, Mitchy and Mndeni makes their way in.

“We are only late because he did not want to listen to me direct him, as if I would lead him to danger.” Mitchy complains before greeting us. We just laugh at them. Mndeni shakes Melisizwe’s hand and comes to kiss my forehead.

“Don’t listen to her. She kept on saying left while the Google Maps said right. Forgive me if I did not listen to her.” He says as he opens a chair for Mitchy and then sits next to her. She gives him a stern look and that just makes me laugh even more. I have never seen her like this and she actually looks cute.

Next to join us is Lineo and Pamela. At least they are not complaining about getting lost. They just apologize for being late. Fifteen minutes later, Phelo and Nqobile asks. I can tell from one look that Phelo is a bit pissed. I don’t know who is the source of his anger. But I find out a minute later.

“I know you are angry but you love me nonetheless and you find me cute. Say you find me cute or else I will walk out of this restaurant right now.” Nqobile says coming to a halt and folding her hands on her chest. Yoh, Phelo has it bad and God decided to give him a lunatic.

“MaNdlondlo, I love you. You are cute and adorable and there is no woman out there for me. And I love that you made me wait for you today while you were doing your hair and make-up. I am a patient man and for you, I will always be patient.” He says and Nqobile swoons.

“And that’s why I chose you my handsome doctor.” She smiles widely and hugs him. She finally spots us and screams. “Hey guys.” She hugs everyone on the table besides Melisizwe. “Tatomkhulu.” She says shaking his hand and he laughs. Phelo also comes to greet everyone and they sit next to each other. “I hope you guys won’t be weird towards each other.” She says looking at Melisizwe and Phelo.

Phelo smiles. “I have no issue with Mzimela being here and dating Hle.”
I look at Melisizwe who also smiles. “Thank you.”

We order dinner after that and we just have a very fun night with Nqobile saying jokes every now and then. With my brother openly showing affection for his girlfriend and giving Melisizwe a death stare when he kisses me. Hypocrisy at its best. Overall, it is a really good night with great conversations and great company. I so wish we can do this often, and I wish Lineo and Pamela would bring their partners next time. That would be more cool.
