Taehyung walked back to the handover alone. His mom was in the middle of her speech when he entered failing to notice him coming in.
It was Hobi who walked up to him "He is very stubborn isn't he?"
Taehyung looked at Hoseok dejectedly.
"But so are you" Hobi said "I told this to Jin in the very beginning too. only I didn't expect these things to happen"
"I couldn't tell him I liked him" Taehyung said .
"Do you know why?"
Taehyung frowned and shook his head "I don't know. It felt fake"
Hobi sighed "Then maybe you need some time to think. Sort your feelings out"
"But he was so sure" Taehyung said "When he said he liked me"
"Taehyung" Hobi said "I am not an expert. and Jin hasn't been an expert when it came to his own life previously too. But you know what I think? You are both afraid of the same things. Just from different perspectives. Jin just finds it hard to believe that you might actually like him after all you have done for the past month is tell him how love is stupid and that people get bored"
Taehyung looked and saw his mother walking towards him.
Hobi tapped him on his back "Taehyung? If I am being completely honest I think you two are perfect for each other. I'll go to Seoul and put some sense into that thick head. But by then I think you should figure things out for yourself too. Its not too late"
"You really think so?"
Hobi nodded "I know so. I'll get going now so you can talk to your mother"
Taehyung watched Hobi walk way while his mother came up to him.
"I am guessing it didn't go well with Jin?" she tasked gently.
Taehyung sighed and looked at his mother helplessly.
She opened her arms and let Taehyung hug her, gently tapping on his back "Taehyung I never really knew how what happened with your father would affect my sons like. Then I realised you both never really had proper relationships and I thought it would pass. but today I realise you both reacted to it very differently."
"What do you mean?" Taehyung mumbled pulling back from the hug.
"Namjoon was worried about people like your father. You became afraid of becoming like your father." she said.
"I am not like him" Taehyung said adamantly.
"Of course you are not" she said confidently "But you are still unconsciously sacred that you will hurt the person you love"
"I couldn't tell Jin I like him" Taehyung confessed honestly "what if I actually don't? what if I just like his friendship and that's why I didn't want him to leave. like philia"
