I woke up early in the evening and sat on my bed. I cleared my eyes as tears were still in my eyes. I got up from the bed minutes later and walked to the window. I opened the bindings wide and looked into the evening sky. The clouds were getting dark. I stood watching the trees as they blew the evening wind from afar and inhaled the breeze.
I began to hum a song as I closed my eyes to inhale the breeze. I remembered how Chloe wept over her cousin and shocked my head.
“I am not meant to think about anything associated with blood,” I said to myself.
I walked over to my bed and sat on it.
“I would be happy if I could go to school. That would be great, but my craving for blood has to stop.” I said to myself.
I got up from my bed and took in a deep breath.
“I have to be bold, no matter what happens,” I said to myself before opening the door.
I walked out of the room and headed straight to the sitting room. I had my sit on one of the sofas and looked around as there was no one in my sitting room. I closed my eyes and ruminated on all that happened during the day.
An hour later, Mom walked out of her room and looked at me. “Sophia!.” She called.
“Yes, Mom,” I answered.
“What are you doing here?” Mom asked. “Nothing,” I answered and stood up, looking at Mom.
Mom moved back a little and I turned my gaze to the ground.
“How long have you been here?” Mom asked and I checked the wall clock. “For an hour,” I said.
“Okay.” Mom said and walked to the kitchen.
I followed her to the kitchen as she went.
Getting to the kitchen, Mom looked at me and smiled before walking to the place where she kept some foodstuffs.
“Mom, may I help you with anything?" I asked.
Mom turned to look at me and shook her head.
“Do not worry.” Mom said.
I stood still where I was watching Mom as she brought out all that she needed to bring out. Mom brought out all she needed to bring out and placed them on a tray which she placed on the kitchen cabin. She later washed the vegetables and kept them in the microwave oven.
Two hours later, we were all gathered in the dining room eating and I looked at Uncle Bob who stared at me while eating. I felt irritated by the way he looked at me, but I couldn't do anything. After having our meal, we all went to the sitting room to relax and I bowed my head.
“Sophia!” Uncle Bob called.
“What is wrong?” I didn't answer him but kept my head bowed.
Minutes later, I felt a hand on my neck, then I raised my head and turned to the back to see who it was. Relieved to see Sarah, I sighed.
“What's wrong?” Sarah asked and walked to the other end of the sofa I was sitting on and looked at me.
“Nothing,” I answered her.
“You can speak to me. I would be ready to help you.” Sarah said.
I raised my head and looked at every other person in the sitting room who was staring at me, then returned my gaze to the ground.
“Can we be excused?” I heard Sarah ask and looked at her.
“Why?” My brother asked and Sarah only winked at him.
“Alright, you may be excused but do call for help if you need one.” Mom said and I looked at her.
“Okay,” Sarah said.
Sarah pulled me to herself and pulled me up.
We went to a room and Sarah told me to have my sit on the bed. I had my sit on the bed and Sarah bent down looking at me. She raised my chin and smiled.
“Why does your face look pale?” She asked.
I looked at her and shook my head.
“You may let me know.” She said and sat on the bed. I looked up before giving out a sigh and turning to her.
“I don't want to go with Uncle Bob,” I said. Sarah sniffled before looking at me.
“You know you have to go with him to be able to heal. You can only come back after healing.” Sarah said and I looked at her.
Sarah looked at me and smiled again.
“I'm sure you would be able to cope,” Sarah said and I nodded my head.
“Promise me that you will yield to treatment,” Sarah said, pointing to me.
“I promise,” I said.
“I would ask you to smile now,” Sarah said and I smiled.
“Okay let's go out,” Sarah said, and I nodded my head before following her out of the room.
Mom gave a sigh of relief as she saw us come out of the room. Sarah bent to my ear and whispered into my ear that I should go meet everyone and hug them.
I looked at Uncle Bob and Sarah smiled, nodding her head before going to have her sit beside my brother.
I stood still and took a deep breath before smiling.
I walked to Mom and hugged her then to Deborah before Rose. I walked up to my brother who kept looking at his fiance who nodded her head smiling. My brother held me tight while I hugged him then I hugged Sarah.
“Thank you for your words of encouragement,” I said and she nodded her head smiling.
I walked to Uncle Bob, who stood up when I approached him and stretched out his hands.
I walked into his hands and hugged him. He also held me tight.
“You just have to yield to treatment then come back home.” He said and I nodded my head.
Minutes later, I walked into my room and brought out some of the clothes I would like to take with me and placed them in a bag Mom gave me, then went out to join my family in the sitting room.
“I'm done packing all I think I would need,” I said and Mom nodded her head.
We all sat to discuss other things and Mom made me speak with Dad on the phone.
Dad assured me that I would come back home better before ending the call. We spoke for an hour before retreating to our various rooms for the night.
